Won't lie... a little bit concerned with Mo going against McDavid. Mo is coming along nicely but at times you can tell he is processing the game... have a feeling McDavid's speed and quick movements might overwhelm Mo a bit. I mean McDavid overwhelms a lot of players but Mo is a rookie going against the best player in the world.

Remember ~3yrs ago during the WC iirc, Mo (before draft) plastered Larkin 2x as Dylan tried to use his speed & evasive maneuvers. Once along the sideboards & once in the Dzone/endboards.

That was the "Mo-ment" I knew the kid had "it".

Now FF 3yrs, this is Mo's Mo-ment & he will not be denied.

I would say that first line is legitimately playing like a first line.

That second line is more like a good third line.

The third and fourth lines are both fourth lines.

Progress from years prior, but Yzerman's still got some work to do.

I really don't get the point of the bottom6. Stephens skates hard but shifts just seem to go to him to die. Gagner has really become a PK specialist on a team that isn't PKing well.

I'd want to see us run something like

Namestnikov/Erne-Rasmussen-Veleno
Namestnikov/Erne-Stpehens-Smith

With the PK going to:

Veleno-Ras
Namestnikov-Stephens

edit: okay, 900 games for Gagner. play him, jerk move to sit him on the cusp of that.

Was wondering why he wasn't listed in the lineup or as an extra. Feel bad for the player in a contract year, but not an injury that impact the team at all. Would clear up a roster spot for Joey if he goes on IR. Oesterle can "play" either side so there's no need to carry 8D.

I'm showing 6 GA in 33 minutes of PK which is terrible.

Also showing 23 minutes of PP which is stupid (3GF/1GA). That decision is entirely on Blash/Alex, stop being stupid please.

Should have signed LGD to $1.8M x 2 years instead, I don't see LGD passing up an extra $600k to go to mediocre team. Water under the bridge, just play Joey damn it. Help us Stevie, you're our only hope....

I'm guessing that their 1st line each have 2-3 points against us but I think Detroit outperforms the 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines. Definitely 3rd and 4th.

Backup goalie with virtually no NHL experience (1 game). Smith is hurt, this makes the game much more interesting.

Nedeljkovic for Detroit, But Edmonton is starting Skinner and this is only his 2nd career NHL game. Probably going to be high scoring for both teams. I say Edmonton 8 Detroit 7.

I'm excited for this one.

If we get smoked at least we get to see McDavid and Draisaitl pop off. If we defend those guys well then that's a testament to our players. If it's a shoot-out then that's always a good watch. Should be fun regardless.
