Nylander 2 points in last 5 games.

Matthews 0 points in last 5 games.

2/3rds of the way through game #6. How long do you think Babs lets them try to battle through it before changing things up?

It's so simple too. Just take Hyman off that line. Teams know they can pay all attention to those 2 and let Hyman **** up on his own.

What's there to change? They get their chances every game. Felt Nylander was the best player on the ice to not get a point against the Oilers. They had a so so game against the Sabres and look good again.

Hyman needs to go to the 4th line. Matthews nor Nylander trust Hyman to do anything with the puck. They don't pass to him at all.

Huh? Babcock's whole system is built around constant pinching and heavy forechecking? They're constantly playing 2-1-2 with the high man supporting the defence on the pinch.

If you see a working forechecking system I'm sure not, Babcock's whole system is built around constant pinching and heavy forechecking may be true but the Leafs are not executing it very well, most of their time is spent trying to break the cycle in their own end and not doing a very good job of it.

They are getting their chances though. It's not like they are invisible. Let them work through it.

Nylander has been dishing passes every game left and right. No one can convert, sooner or later pucks will start going in. I wouldn't change that duo, probably give them someone else other than Hymen to work with.

Jake gardiner is 6th place in ice time amongst defenseman on by far the worst D in the NHL by every metric of measuring who is the worst D.

It's blatantly stupid to keep ignoring the results and evidence constantly put directly into your face. 6th in ice time on the worst D in the league. Keep repeating that and think about what that means.

What do you think it means?

Corsi for %: 53.54%
xGF60: 3.82
xGA60: 2.99
xGF%: 56%

The evidence within Gardiner's results points to that he's great.

They look him off every time. He is killing the flow constantly

Don't think he'll change it up any time soon. Sure he points aren't coming, but the opportunities are.

They're creating and playing well, the points will come.

The tough part is, what exactly do you switch up?

You don't want to put either one on a checking line because then you completely take away from their talents.

So the other option is find them a new winger and the options are Soshnikov, Marner, Brown, JVR or Martin.

Well, as long as they're generating chances I think they stay together. At most, maybe switch up Hyman.

Leafs have played a fairly good game. Not many mistakes defensively. Just need to do proper zone exits and cash in on the chances.

Nylander and Matthews have been generating a ton of chances. Sooner or later that puck will go in. They need to switch up Hyman with like Soshnikov or something.

Matthews is snake-bitten right now.

It seems like Nylander is trying his hardest to end that pointless streak.

Nylander needs to shoot the puck more and get a little selfish. He's been great. Matthews has five shots. This is like an every day thing for him. He's got more shots on goal than guys like Stammer and Ovie. Once he gets one, floodgates open again.

Maybe if they weren't getting a dozen premium scoring chances a game and dominating possession. They're snake bitten. No reason to panic.
