Matthews is a monster of a player. Getting some real Oates/Hull vibes from Marner/Matthews except both are probably more dynamic than the former.
I can't think of many players I've seen in my lifetime who have the vision that Marner has. It's as if he sees the ice as we see it from the aerial view camera.
Matthews this year has turned into something more than just a shooter, which is what Hull almost singularly was. He can score in more ways and is a far better 200 foot player.
I hope they can win a Cup and decide that staying together for their career would place them in discussions of the most elite pairings in NHL history.
Tough to say that now, but they've been consistent.
