For all the MacKinnon bashing, he's been at least 50% in the faceoff circle in 7 of his last 9 games.

He's had O'Reilly on his line so he's mostly taken draws on his strong side. But I would expect his number to go up this year compared to last.

Duchene is likely going against better players but he has been 40% or less in 6 of the 10 games this season. Not good.

One aspect of Mack's game that I love is his improved face-offs. Dutch absolutely needs to be better

He will never get going and this team will suffer for it. This team depends a lot on MacKinnon, more than most people would like to admit. They need his talent and that talent has to produce to create wins. He's not someone that is going to shine with 14 minutes of ice time.

It's pretty self explanatory. We added a kid who gave us 60 points and went from worst to first essentially. If he even gets back to that same pace (and I believe he will and then some) the team as a whole will win games.

Right now he's struggling and so is the team. Defense is going to be whatever regardless. Nothing should keep this team from averaging around 3 goals a game though.

Thing is at this point ready or not they HAVE to depend on him. They were dead set on making him the 1A/2 center instead of playing on the wing where he looked so good, so they let Stastny go.

So your right, they have to play him in that role and live with the growing pains.

As for the teams overall position, people were foolish to believe we'd get the same puck luck this year that helped us win the division. I'm still confident we grab a WC.
