He should at least get a few games early in the season even if he does get sent down. It would be good for him to know what to work on in the AHL, if he heads there. I would keep him and sit Bortuzzo.

I agree!! Give him a few games in the NHL against regular season NHL teams and lets see how he looks. Kid has the skills to play at this level. Give him a taste and see if he is ready. If he needs to go down and get the playing time to physically develop then that is also good. Kid is still young as a defenseman and it takes time to develop really good NHL defensemen. He has good potential and so far hasn't shown that he is any less than what we have on defense.
