Just finished watching the replay... wow, I think that's the best first game from the Blue Jackets I've ever seen!
We easily could have won 5-1, that's how good we played. That Enroth goalie and his post stat had a good game.

Saturday should be a good test, but I think we'll be okay until Dubinsky and Jenner get back.

He was FAR from healthy, he was not right at all when he came back. He was still feeling the effects of the injury for sure so I don't count that.

Played game 1, then sat, but I get your point.

He has been a healthy scratch before, just saying.

Could have happened at some point before last year, but I can't remember it happening, last year can't count because he was never healthy. I'm talking about a true healthy scratch.

I gather from this that no true Scotsman is ever healthy scratched.

what a game to be at...the rink is a nice area, and will be awesome once that practice facility is done...my god what a building...

sorry to have flooded your screen so many times last night...ok, not really...

It was a great time at the game. Was terrific time with some great people. Can't wait for my next road trip with the Jacket Backers.

2007 we opened with ANA at home, we destroyed them, 4-0. Shots on goal were something like 14-2 at one point in our favor.

In all fairness, I believe ANA had just flown back from a European opener.

it was great to hear that in media scrum today, Richards acknowledge how happy he was for CBJ fans to show up and be loud last night...time to carry it over tomorrow...

I remember so many times last year where Cam just kept getting bad puck luck and he still somehow got 20+ goals on the season. Assuming he can have even a little bit of luck this season and he plays on the PP/with Joey, 30 goals isn't entirely ridiculous to think about.

What about when Horton comes back though? Would he take Atkinson's place on the top line? Or would he play second line?

...Really?
The biggest thing I've noticed that was different from year's past was the chemistry of the lines. It felt like these guys had been playing for years together, because for some, they have been.

Between that and their growth, it felt like we've finally built a pretty solid team. So kudos to the Jackets for that. Here's to hoping that this team will continue along this path.

I honestly think that is just what happens when you get better athletes, yes they do anticipate where the other players are on the ice, for example the no look passes etc., and that looks like they have played for years together, but I think it is also having the guys that know where the seams are and the athletic ability to get there. Some of those line combos were pretty new - Wennberg, Dano and Erixon were not out of place and Testtube, Atkinson, Calvert all looked to be playing with more confidence.

I watched the Boll "stupid penalty" several times now on the DVR and I don't see any indication that Weber was getting a penalty prior to Boll stepping in, the ref is out of the picture on the FSOH feed and it didn't look like they were going to call anything. I think it was just off setting penalties. Boll is pretty smart when he picks his spots, he rarely takes a "stupid" penalty. The only evidence is that Rimer said so but he's wrong about 90% of the time so I don't take his word for anything.

the ref had his hand up behind the goal...the scrum happened...boll and weber go off...

I was screaming about what they were doing...was confusing...

That's what I noticed too. You can call it chemistry, but I think we're just more skilled than we used to be.

I believe it also comes from having both an established style of play (both big club an organizationlly) and a group of players who are committed to it. CBJ have struggled with the identity thing and only once, IMO, have had players committed to it. That team made the playoffs, then bailed on it for the following season.

I agree with you both this this team is better than that one, too.

Late to the party but I was there..... The best thing for Sabre Fan is the new arena district that's being built in downtown Buffalo.... In addition to hotels, bars, hockey rinks and even a nearby Casino they are putting in canals that lead to Lake Erie... It's going to be called the Canal District....

As for the game, the Jackets crushed them, actually they dominated... The best part were the CBJ fans in the upper bowl corner screaming “CBJ†much of the game…

It was a great victory for the Blue Jackets!!!
