Looked like men against boys.
The China trip hurt this team, but beyond that, they need a lot more practice. They were a mess.

This wasn't the result of a bad 2nd line, 3rd line, center, goalie, etc.
This was a team that was NOT ready to play a regular season NHL game.

It almost felt like these guys had never played together before. Passes were to no one and it seemed like a half dozen times, our guys ran into each other.

Oh well, we play again tomorrow. I just hope they show up. Tonight they just seemed disinterested from the start. Terrible puck battles, turnovers for everyone and just no offensive pressure.

I thought Moore was pretty good.

I thought Rask and Halak were both good overall, which sounds funny when they gave up 7, but it could have been so much worse.

For all the talk about the B’s being a one line team, they were a no line team tonight. The first line was invisible. The only F’s I thought were decent were DeBrusk, Heinen, and Kuraly (even if he doesn’t belong on the 3rd line).

He's no savior. He has a hugely negative +/- history since being in the NHL. Besides that the dummies in Ottawa wouldn't trade him here anyway. Only one that I want from them is Stone and for him I pay a premium.

Bergeron won 16 faceoffs. The entire Caps team won 19. Have to think if his back was killing him, faceoffs would be a problem. So I guess that's good news, yay?

They looked disjointed and out of sync. Not surprising when you consider the team was basically a split squad for a large chunk of the preseason.

B’s aren’t nearly as bad as they looked and Caps not nearly as good. Sometimes these games happen. Hopefully, the B’s are pissed and embarrassed, and it carries over until tomorrow night.

I agree about Bruins not nearly as bad part.But other part I keep thinking well they won Cup a few months ago.

It always seems to be the way . The Caps always play the Bruins at the most inopportune time ,when the team is so out of sorts . Sure , the Caps are better but not THAT much better.
