Chris Wagner's physical presence was definitely lacking against the Blues. Sad because the margin for victory was so slim.

We can lament the top line not having a huge impact on the game, but the same could be said about Seguin and Benn.

I'm apolitical but thought it was awesome seeing Bush with both teams. And I applaud the mods here for keeping things in check.

From the happy place from before!

I come here not to poop on David but to lament his inability to excel.

I would grab the staff raise it high pour the pints and lead the band if he were a force tonight.

He really needs to be top 6 to justify being a Bruin.
Well than let talk about Marchand, pasta and Bergeron as well. Cuz backes had more impact than any of them. Not saying he was a star but he did not look out of place at all. Thought he looked good... as good or better than kuraly and Wagner... and better than top line.

After this game I’d try this.

Marchand-Bergeron-Ritchie
Debrusk-Krejci-Pastrnak
Heinen-Coyle-Kuhlman
Kuraly-Lindholm-Wagner

Grzelcyk-Mcavoy
Krug-Carlo
Chara-Clifton

Ritchie plays a physical game and could create space for Marchand and Bergeron. That line with Pastrnak doesn’t sustain enough pressure 5 on 5.

I agree with playing Chara less. Grzelcyk and Mcavoy would be one of the better skating 1st pairs in the league.

I’d put Bergeron, pasta and Marchand on fourth line... and backes, Coyle and wags on 1st line.

Bergeron won only 8 of 20 faceoffs. :help:

Why have him take that many? The other guys all did better than him.

I'm not convinced he's as healthy as he would have us believe.

Raises eyebrow ... this is Bergeron, who "was confident" to make the opener.

So in between the 2nd and 3rd there's a chance a facehugger baby burst from his chest and he still played.

I would even guess overall Krejci feels better but he just isnt the Dark Knight of the Bruins like Bergy .... It's only a flesh-wound!

That was an intense game. The Bruins looked good.

The amount of plays Carlo shuts down, turns over and moves up the ice is ridiculous.

Kuhlman was flying. No one looked bad but I'd like to see Lindholm try to make a few plays.

I also want to point out on play in the 3rd. Heinen was one-on-three and he does the smart thing and dumps it in but goes hard after it, wins it, gets it to the point and then deflects the point shot. It was a thing of beauty. He's going to have a big year.
I thought Lindholm was real good. Played his role to a T. He isn’t going to be an offensive catalyst but he is strong defensively, quick, and makes smart plays.

He was on an offensive line today so you would like to see something more than a dump on a 3-on-2.

If you think his role is a 13th forward, I agree. But I think the Bruins are looking for a guy who can move up and down the lineup.

I'm on board for most of your reply ... as little as the top line put up in points they had a hell of a possession game in the first half.

And Kurls and Wags, Wags finished the game on his stick and Kurl had some good looks on both sides of the puck.

And again, I want Backes to succeed but he has to be short of vintage Cam Neely on the right out there to keep the boys in Providence.

I like the Gamecenter layout on the NHL app this year.

Did I just say that?!
