Dumba is 4th (JEE, Kap, Zucc ahead of him) on the team in 5v5 points.

He has significantly more time on ice than anyone else too. He's 17th in 5v5 P/60.

I don't expect the d-men to be compitition for the FWDs in the 5v5 p/60 department. They just aren't in the prime scoring areas as much, even with the extended ice time.

He's still 2nd for d-men in p/60. The d-man ahead of him is .05 p/60 higher than him. 3rd is .02 p/60 behind him. 4th is .22 p/60 behind Dumba. The more minutes don't really mean much when the numbers are within hundredths of of each other.

Russo says Hartman will probably play against CHI, so who will sit?

Walker. Last man in is the first man out of the lineup mentality of the team.

More minutes means everything when the two rates are within hundredths of each other because more minutes is literally the only differentiating factor between those two in total production.

If the equation is rate x minutes = production, and the rate is the same, the minutes are what is going to affect the result.

I'm not expecting defensemen to compete with forwards either, just adding context to your post.

The difference is minimal. 527.25 mins (Dumba's 5v5 ToI) = 8.7875‬ hours(60)
1.07 p/60 (Spurgeon) x 8.7875‬= 9.40p
1.02 p/60 (Dumba) x 8.7875‬ = 8.96p
1 p/60 (Merrill) x 8.7875‬ = 8.79p
.8 p/60 (Middleton) x 8.7875‬= 7.03p
.35 p/60 (Addison) x 8.7875‬= 3.08p
.3 p/60 (Brodin) x 8.7875‬ = 2.64p
.29 p/60 (Goli) x 8.7875‬ = 2.55p

The difference over a (~18 mins/game) season say 1500 mins (25 hours) .05 p/60 is only 1.25p, and .02 p/60 is .5p. It really is a minimal amount.

*The numbers don't add up completely because of rounding in the p/60 and my .25 (instead of .2666666) for ToI
