I don’t think it’s nerves as he’s looked like this most of preseason. Just seems like he’s not ready for speed of game. The skills are there, just looks like he needs to play in AHL to get used to playing against bigger, quicker guys.

From what I watched I hated how often they just weak dumped and changed. Clear possession just given up.

Second, not doing a great job putting the puck in places we could forecheck.

I don't think that Steel is the problem there. Cogs has looked a little shaky with the puck, tonight, and Aberg is hot trash.

Best thing about that period is the team mentality regarding speed doesn't seem to have been bullshit. But almost the entire roster top to bottom was terribly sloppy on the puck.

Schenn already looks like Bieksa but slightly faster.

Scrambly is pretty much the only word to describe that period. They were skating, but in the manner of chickens with their heads cut off. But hey, at least they’re skating. Infinitely more interesting to watch.
