The Sharks own us recently so I’m not expecting much. If we do win, it’ll probably be on Gibson’s back.

We’ll see if this new system of ours allows us to not be doubled up in shots.

Agreed. For some reason the Ducks play really bad at season openers. I am not expecting much tonight as the Sharks will be all fired up and the Ducks have a history of pretty poor opening night games.

Based on our injury situation and our roster, this is the lineup I came up with:

Rakell - Getz - Terry
Cogs - Rico - Silf
Comtois - Lundeström - Aberg
Gibbons - Rowney - Sherwood

Lindholm - Manson
Fowler - Montour
Pettersson - Schenn

Gibson - Miller

Scratches: Steel, Street, Sustr

Welcome back hockey! Here's to a good season for the Ducks and all us fans.

(just stocked up on Scotch for the season, so I'm ready).

Looking at how last playoffs went and our 4-19 record in season openers, I have decided to lower my expectations a bit.

6-2 Ducks

I would really, really like to get off to a good start this year. Half the fanbase is ready to pounce on the slightest excuse to give up.

I don't think you're gonna see them double-up the rookies if they don't have to. Swap Cogliano and Comtois.

I remember 2006 we beat the Blackhawks and 2007 we had like a 19 game point streak or something. Those and last year are the only two wins I can think of.

Pretty sure the practice lines were:

Rakell - getzlaf - terry
Comtois - henrique - silfverberg
Cogliano - steel - aberg
Street - rowney - sherwood

But gibbons appears the be healthy so am assuming he takes streets spot.

The one non-Carlyle win was under Mike Babcock in 2002-03. The season of the lost Stanley Cup final.
That season we won 3 games in the final - something the Sharks still have not done as of yet lmao. That was a heartbreaking loss but that playoff run I became the fan of the Ducks.

This year Sharks are serious contenders tho but let`s see if their forwards and goaltending keep up with that monster blueline. On paper looks good.

Thornton without that beard should be faster because improved aerodynamics

I think Gibbons is out and Steel will more than likely play. I agree with your defense pairings though.

Rakel-Getz-Terry
Comtois-Rico-Silf
Cogs-Steel-Aberg
Lundeström-Rowney-Sherwood

Hell I don't know. The injuries are already nuts!!!!!
