Any thoughts on this years Aug 15 NCAA class?
Only guy I can see that we have a need for and who is good (there are a few undersized W's who are below PPG (Carson Meyer, Karcg Bachman, Chris Wilkie), and a few LHD who are good like Ryan Shea)
My target: Cam Morrison is a guy I'd like the Leafs to bring in.
Strong 2 way player, 6'3 C/LW.
Not the best NCAA #'s, 27 points in 37 games, but played on the PK and relied on heavily in the defensive zone. I saw him play a few times, and think hes an ideal bottom 6 guy for us if he develops properly. Has the size, needs to add some adult strength.
Thoughts on Luke Martin? Pretty sure he was a 2nd rounder by Carolina actually. Numbers look to have stagnated but I don't mind his offensive tools from what i've seen, especially when you consider the competition he faces logging big minutes. Seems to move well and handle the puck at a competent level.I have pretty much all of the good options tracked.

Keep in mind that these are AHL contract candidates. The only ELC candidates I have are Ryan Shea, Luke Martin (defensive defenseman RD; CAR 3rd rounder) and Riley Stotts.
I like Cam Morrison, but he has skating issues and lacks offensive upside. I thought he would progress a lot better, but he is kind of 'meh'. Would definitely give him a nice AHL contract and let him compete for an AHL job, but I wouldn't give him an ELC.

Strickland reported that he's not signing with Carolina so he's more likely to be available than, say, a guy like Stotts.
I wonder how many more AHL deals we see to fill the Growlers roster, although it would be highly dependent on the turnover of the current roster.I have pretty much all of the good options tracked.

This is going to be a weird offseason... whenever the offseason starts lol
So not much has changedChaotic to say the least.
Shortened time to make decisions, talk to teams about trades, and negotiate contracts.
We could see some really bad, short-sight, and not well thought out plans.
I have pretty much all of the good options tracked.

Easy enough for @SeaOfBlue to track these on a spreadsheet, and just post updates from time to time.I almost want you to start its own thread, and track who is signed where and when.
Just to see how many of the 'top' young UFA's are going where.
Id assume most go to the currently good teams who lack depth at a particular position, or bad teams where they could get into the NHL top 6/4 faster but who knows. Could be an interesting experiment.

How could this be possible when many people said the Leafs were gonna regret losing him?????Timashov is apparently heading to Riga next year. I'm surprised he is not giving it a few more years, especially with the lack of depth in the Detroit organization.

Real gritty group Dubas assembled. At least Clifford has arrived in time to play the BJ's.Fun fact - Timashov still leads Leafs' forwards in hits this year despite only playing 39 for them, averaging only 8 minutes a game and being the size of a miniature poodle. Moore has the fourth most hits among Leafs' forwards despite only playing 27 games and being even smaller.

Esp since he is supposed to become the 2nd coming of Martin St Louis by main board the moment Wings picked him up. How he is going to haunt the Leafs for years to come.....How could this be possible when many people said the Leafs were gonna regret losing him?????
Tima is close to 200 pounds, he might not be 6’3 but he is think and sticky like a DwarfFun fact - Timashov still leads Leafs' forwards in hits this year despite only playing 39 for them, averaging only 8 minutes a game and being the size of a miniature poodle.
