As for the defense... FA options aren't gonna be worth it, I wouldn't think. Okay with that not being an option. Not too sure how I feel about us sticking with the same eight, though. Training Camp needs to happen first.

I'd be down with picking up Viktor Tihkanov or Michael Frolik for a winger, not really expecting anything to happen though.

Dream would be to trade for Brent Burns, but I'm not holding out any hope haha.

We can't absorb another forward who won't/can't play defense, and the thing we do best is score goals already, adding more scoring doesn't really help the Stars. Even if he signs for cheap and short term, he knows we won't commit even if he is a big success, so he'll go somewhere like New Jersey that needs offense where he could eventually catch on.

Also Calgary signed Dougie Hamilton for 6 years @ 5.75 million AAV, pretty nice contract for them.

Makes the Hamilton trade look that much worse. Yikes.

I'd imagine he's the best option in this summer's free agency pool for blue liners, but he's going to get paid a lot of money for what he is. What do you think?

I think at this point we target Sekera. Or at least I'd hope we would. I think he can keep up with our team better than Franson could, he looked woeful in Nashville.
