I don’t get this, can he walk if he sits out until December 1, 2018? December 1, 2019??

If he isn't signed by December 1st, he can walk away from his contract but can't play in the NHL for the remainder of that season. I can't remember a single case of that ever happening in the NHL though

I remember hearing it was going to be Hall+#4 for McD.

They had a deal in place with Arizona for Stepan too, which ended up happening a year later

Draisaitl and 4th was for Subban. There was no deal for McDonagh that draft.

It was just Brooks spewing his usual nonsense

Only ever recall seeing what Maloney said, which was that Rangers had a deal for #4 in place that fell through.

McDonagh makes sense in that context.

Hall though? Wew. Imagine this team with Hall and Keller.

There sure was.

How else were they going to get the #4 OA? This has been confirmed by both Maloney and Freidman/Marek. Once the Jackets picked PLD, that deal fell apart.

Montreal had honed in on Weber from the start.
