All of a sudden it looks like we picked the right time to rebuild with all these other teams in the Metro loading up for now runs.

Honestly the Metro will be the same barring Columbus not being a mess. Rags are no lock to win it this time though, and I'm not sure what the Isles will do.

Don't forget the Caps, and now adding Williams. If there was ever a team that needed a specific player it might be that team needing that player to help get it over the hump.

It will still be the same though, the playoff teams will just shuffle around. Division isn't really any tougher, just different teams on top. Caps and Penguins will be better (maybe), Rags and maybe Isles will be worse.

Also no one ever wins a cup on July 1st. Last year everyone was convinced Dallas was a contender. A lot of times this stuff doesn't work out.

Plus the Caps lost Green and might lose Ward, which I didn't take into account...they're still all very good though.

They are, but they were very good last year. Should of been in the ECF if they didn't choke it away.

Just don't see the Metro suddenly as this juggernaut division now. Then I am always cautious now.

Pierre being ready to hand the cup to Edmonton is barf inducing.

lol...I mean even with the golden boy there now which West juggernaut are they bumping out of the playoffs? Vancouver I guess? But then LA and SJ could always shoehorn their way back in first.

He was basically blowing a load over the return of the battle of Alberta...except the Flames are still WAY ahead of Edmonton.

He is a bald boob.

I figured Calgary'd fall back a bit too until they got Hamilton and Frolik, they mean business.

The metro is everyone else on top and the Devils and Hurricanes at the bottom. Feel bad for Cory considering some of the garbage goaltending we see in the playoffs.

I honestly like signings like these. The guy is 36 and will never sniff the NHL, but he is a pretty good producer in the AHL. Sheros' AHL teams were always competitive unlike ours, we will see him invest a bit more in Albany. That is a good thing, because we are going to suck something bad next year

O’Brien, 26, joins the Devils’ organization after completing the 2014-15 season with Hershey (AHL).

I really didn't think Calgary would make the playoffs again this year, I still am gonna say they WON'T but I won't be surprised if they do.

Their chances are good because LAK's offense sucks. They pretty much replaced Justin Williams with Lucic. Their offense has been bottom 7 or 8 for the past two seasons in the regular season. If they just improve their overtime record, they'll probably be back in. They went 3-15 in OT and shootout combined last season.

I thought the Sharks might get back in, now I don't think they will. Still have some locker room issues IMO, after all the crap with Doug wanting Marleau and Thornton, and then not wanting them before their extensions even kicked in. And then they hired the worst playoff making percentage head coach in the league, not a good recipe right there.

Their goaltending also is WAY questionable. They have two backups until proven otherwise.

Philly is so bad people forgot they are even in this division.

They're kind of like us, with worse defense and better forwards. They've got a couple nice defense prospects though.

Steve Mason actually had a really good season last year, he was injured fairly frequently though.

They did upgrade their backup spot today though, by not re signing Ray Emery.

At least we probably won't lose to him, he's DONE in the NHL. Unless of course Ray signs him as our ''NHL experienced'' third stringer to stick in Albany.

I figure it's him or Dan Ellis. Is Macbackuphaney still signed with the CBJ for this upcoming season?

Too bad Mike McKenna was just signed by Florida. He has NHL experience.

I think he can also be on twitter now, or so it seems to appear.

Expect they are a cap team so they suck and can't do anything about it. Best thing they could do was dump a contract that they were putting on LTIR.

If they can get out from under Lecavalier and offload a guy like Umberger they'll be in a much better position cap wise. Bringing on Gagner also makes a Read or Schenn expendable. They've got a fairly decent to really good top 3 lines, but Vinny and Umberger are albatrosses, so I hope they're there forever.

Hextall has to be creative, espc since that blueline is mostly dire beyond Streit, but I would be willing to bet they finish this coming season higher than we do.

Philly can win high scoring games, but get them in any sort of close game and they're cooked as of now.

At least Philly has assets and a prospect pool if they wanted to go full rebuild.

We are in a weird place right now.
