Goc staying in Pittsburgh for 1.2m. **** that, I would have given him 2m+. He's a fantastic 4C who can move up the lineup if need be.

I'm also still surprised that not only did Tanner Glass find employment for the next 3 years but also getting paid close $2M per year for it. He has a legit claim for one of the worst hockey players in the league.

Top 10 Worst Deals of Free Agency thus far:
1. Brooks Orpik $5.5X5
2. Derek Engelland $2.9X3
3. Clayton Stoner $3.25X4
4. Dave Bolland $5.5X5
5. Tanner Glass $1.45X3
6. Mike Cammalleri $5X5
7. Brian Gionta $4.25X3
8. Leo Komarov $2.95X4
9. Beniot Pouliot $4X5
10. Andrej Meszaros $4.125X1

Thoughts?

Robidas at $3m for 3 years needs to be on there, certainly ahead of Mez. After what he went through last season, I'm beyond shocked someone gave him more than 1 year.

I think that'd be a problem.

Not for what Goc provides. He's a guy who can take a heavy defensive workload. He makes your top nine better by not forcing them to play more defensive minutes than they need to.

He's worth 2m if not more. Especially if Brian Boyle got 2m. Then you figure Tanner ****ing Glass is getting more, and it makes no sense whatsoever.

There are several GMs in the league who have no business being in the seat they're in. I know people want to say, "They're the decision makers for a reason", but I think it's BS. Today proves that there are more than a few who have absolutely no clue how to build an NHL team.

I'm not sure where the fit would be in the Flyers lineup, but Brian Gibbons looked pretty good on the Penguins last year. He's small but quick and works hard. Basically a better version of Eric Wellwood.

Clearly Hextall is playing it smart and not spending $ he doesn't have. He doesn't really have to do anything and we can ice our team next year. He is operating on the premise that he needs to move salary out first, before adding any in. And yes, it might cost us some guys he wanted. But he sort of has to operate that way.

Yes...Ott and Winnik still out there. As are Vrbata and Kulimen. :yo:

I didn't want to sign anybody else except for these 4. (Maybe Greiss)

Good signings IMO:

Jussi Jokinen at $4m for 4 years. Maybe a year too long but still solid.

Mason Raymond at $3.17 for 3 years. Seems to be the going rate for 40 point type 3rd liners.

Dan Boyle at $4.5 for 2 years. He's old but even as a second pairing PP specialist, this is better than most defenseman signed today.

Brad Richards for $2m on a one year deal. He doesn't have much left but for that price there isn't much risk.

Mathieu Perreault at $3m for 3 years. If he can stay on the ice this could be a great deal.

Christian Ehrhoff at $4m for 1 year. As much as I hate the Pens this could be a win-win for both. Ehrhoff could look like Niskanen if he gets PP time and could cash in for one last big deal next offseason.

I'm sure I forgot a couple but with all the terrible contracts thrown around today, these ones seem either fair or good to me.

I just want someone skilled to put at 1LW. It's what we really need

We really need defense. A 1LW would be nice. But the reason we aren't considered contenders is not because we lack a really good 1LW.

Still hoping for Vinny to NSH. Just hope Hex is playing it rough with NSH's GM
