Was reading that Lundquist (Rangers) will be heading over to Sweden to play for this home town team.
The team had to seek outside financing just to cover the 30K in monthly insurance to cover his contract.
Contrast this with Killion's earlier comment on same page:
So ya sit, doing what exactly if you got a mind? Move to Europe, and dont come back.
This is why I think the players need to be careful what they ask for. European teams having to seek additional funding to cover insurance? KHL teams with team salary totals of $15 million (who does Suter play for over there?). That doesn't sound quite like the same financial situation as they have here even if they bend over and take it hard from the NHL. Sure it sucks but are the options really that palatable?
League sucks. Players suck. Stop trying to win the PR battle, get to the split where it needs to be and in 6-7 years we'll hate you all over again.
