Flyers have signed goalie Michal Neuvirth to two-year deal, $1.5 M in Year 1 and $1.75 million in Year 2

this is a great deal

Abit much for a backup, but he will be one of the best backups in the game. With Mason's health, this is a very good signing!

Mason goes down, we have a backup that can play as a starter. Also goves two years for Stolarz to get his game going.

$5.7M is a very manageable number for a solid goaltending tandem in today's NHL. They won't blow you away, but for the first time in awhile we shouldn't have to worry about our starter or our backup.

Nice job Hextall. Happy with this.

Can Neuvirth slide side to side on ice? After Emery, that's my only requirement.

Neuvirth is very good backup goalie.

Hes a bit inconsistent if he doesnt play enough, but he did very vell when he became n1 in buffalo last year.

Great job by Hextall.

When I saw emerys name in the starting lineup I automatically had doubt about the team winning. I also am a big supporter of playing your best goalie in game 1 of back to backs regardless of who you play. However with our past backup we have had to shelter them against the weakest team which can backfire

I think he was the best backup on the market and expected him to get at least $2M.

This is a no-brainer for a $1.6M cap hit. You're getting a top back up for only a $600k hit over Emery.

Fantastic. This is a great signing. 2 years ago mason was better with longer rest. This past season he was awful in back to back games.

Hopefully this remedies that and we can be not nervous when the backup is out there

I like this signing for three reasons

1. He's still young for a goalie
2. Has been a starter before.
3. Cheap contract.
