Haks system is great and he has the team prepared to play just about every game.

I do disagree with some lineup decisions and usage decisions though.

He isnt even at the halfway point of his first NHL season though. I think hes bright enough to figure it out.

I get Laughton being demoted to the 4th line.

I don't get why White is PKing ahead of him. White is bad at it.

its been stated before, it took awhile for the team to get used to what Hakstol wanted. They had no structure under Berube.
I dont think there hasnt been a coach here where we didnt question personnel decisions. I know it can be frustrating as hell tho. .

I give Hak credit for having the balls to move Jake to LW. I thought it would be a disaster.

This year is about taking those sort of chances.

Laughton hasn't stepped up and forced his way into more responsibility, really, has anything he's done this season stood out? I thought Cousins looked better in the few games he was up this season.

After 40 games:

18-15-7, 0.538 point %, 50% CF

After 40 games last season:

15-18-7, 0.463 point %, 48.9% CF

And Hakstol does not have Giroux & Voracek going full on gang-busters on the league like Berube did through the first half of last year...

it is all about team structure.
something they didnt have under Berube.
Of course folks complain about certain players not playing enough, or someone not being used correctly. every teams fanbase complains about that.

Hakstol also lost Streit in November as well.

Hakstol also lost Streit in November as well.

Streit is more and more turning into a non-factor other than leadership, much like Timonen in his last couple of seasons. Still servicable though.

The emergence of Gostisbehere had more of an impact than the absence of Mark Streit.

I've seen a different team in the last month. Creative in all 3 zones and support for the puck carrier everywhere. Lots of physicality and winning a big majority of board battles, Hakstol looks like a keeper.
