It's the reason I hesitate to say he's going to be a #1 or better than Ghost. He's not a guy that will be all over the ice creating offense. It's not his game. He's going to get his points from outlet passes and QBing the powerplay because he's such a good passer.
Is #1D always a guy with greatest offensive ability? And what does 'better then Ghost' mean - we are talking about apples and oranges here. Sorry, confused by this post.

He looks awful. I get he can win a faceoff, but he looks like the definition of just a guy out there. Slow, ineffective, behind the play, invisible.

Yeah like I said he reminds me of Adam Hall when he was here. Just a face off/PK specialist really. Hopefully it's not something they're stuck on going forward if things don't really improve. I doubt they try Raffl at center but perhaps Lyubimov.

Tbf for a good ~4-5 years when in Phoenix and then Edmonton he was basically the Marcus Kruger of his day. Did pretty amazingly defensively in awful minutes.

He is not as good as he once was... but he can still bring value.

I'm willing to give him the actual preseason. The guy is a scrappy vet, I don't think he's using every single ounce of energy in the preseason. The guy knows there is a long season in front.

With Neuvirth mask the way it is, I don't think Hextall could even come close to trading him.
