The Philadelphia Flyers have acquired the San Jose Sharks' third round draft pick in 2015 in exchange for forward Tye McGinn, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

McGinn, 23 (7/29/1990) appeared in 18 games this past season with the Flyers, posting four goals and five points. Over the last two seasons, he has recorded seven goals and 10 points in 36 regular season games with Philadelphia.

I'll say this. I think if tye gets regular 3rd line minutes he can be a 15 goal scorer. He has some skill and he is a big body and net front presence. I think he will do well for them but he never got consistent minutes for us. Glad we were able to get a 3rd rounder for him.

Yeah I think they're pretty high on Brandon Alderson as well. He can do a lot of the big body stuff as well plus he's a better skater than McGinn.
