Happy for the win but it was sad too see how we got completely dominates that 3rd period... besides the PP time they got, we were horrible of faceoffs and unable to sustain any kind of offensive zone time...

Like how Pirri is looking right now, mostly I like his desire to just shoot the damn puck when he is anywhere near the goal, something refreshing on this team. Let's see how he plays the remainder of the season but if he keeps this up he may force Trocheck to spend another year in the AHL, which could be good for Vinny's further development (he has looked great regardless).

I did not expect Howden to score this much, still see some issues with his play but he is skating hard and driving to the net. Him and Hayes are two big bodies that give defenders trouble and they compensate for Pirri's smaller size.

You said it all right here. The competition is Pirri vs Shore next training camp in my opinion. Pirri has shown some ability to make others better and he is somewhat of a power play specialist with his total game and no fear to shoot or pass. He's very decisive. He lacks strength and top end speed but that's his only weakness.

I rather have free agents take winger spots on the top 2 lines and maybe Huby comes back to form to be a part of that and Trocheck I think looks physically NHL ready. He is a pretty strong guy for his size. Its Shore vs Pirri right now I think for that last center spot.

Lol watching this game brought me back to the 2003 season where he just stood on his head for every win. I'll take it though. Thanks LU!

Pirri isn't playing against the other teams' top lines like Bjugs at the moment. Next year I'd think he will be a good 3rd line center. Bjugs moved to second. Man it looks good right now:naughty:

I got him on the 4th in a battle with shore. If not its a battle with Trocheck for 3rd line center and shore is at 4th.

If Howden and Hayes are on the 4th line next year at wings all I know is that Pirri gets the best out of them.

Pirri is a one dimensional player, all he brings is scoring. I don't think he's suited for a 3rd line role.

all he brings is scoring? alright, I'm ok with that  we got 11 other forwards who can help in other areas, not many of those 11 others can score goals so we should take what we can.

i doubt anyone is put on wing. i have shore as the 4th line center next season. with trocheck and pirri competing for the 3rd center spot. if pirri would have to pass through waivers, and trocheck can easily be sent down, then just keep pirri if he continues playing like this. trocheck has been awesome but its easier for him to go back down, he can continue developing, and we always experience injuries so he'll come up and see playing time no question. trocheck will come up when any of the top-3 centers are injuried and slot into the 3rd line and keep shore on the 4th.

or, keep pirri together with hayes and howden on the 4th, i know pirri isnt ideally a 4th line player, not the biggest guy, but I'm more than fine with howden and hayes on the 4th next season if they continue playing like this, pirri seems to work well with them, and he's not that small, he's still 6'0 185lbs, he could get up to 190 possibly next season or close to it. then trocheck can play on the 3rd. and shore can fill in on the 4th when theres an injury. only issue with howden and hayes as the wingers we'd need to get rid of fleischmann and kopecky somehow, so I'm sure howden will stay in the ahl with kopecky still around.

Dammit, I was looking forward to going to this game all season. I had to be at the airport last minute today though  :(

Finally got home and watched the game... that's why I love going to their games out here; they always beat the Sharks in their house for some reason

Pirri would seem to be a case just like Grabner...if you use him right, he'll be a great player for you. If you expect 2-way play out of him and demote him accordingly for not giving it, he'll be a waste of a roster spot.

Technically, that was our problem with Pavel Bure, too. Only difference is Bure could play defense if he had a mind to...he just wasn't inclined to bother. That one game where he tried to make a point to his coach (I forget if it was Terry Murray at the time) who had berated him on his one way play, where he was throwing his body around and delivering crushing checks despite his 5'11" 190lbs. frame, proved that.
