3rd Panthers-game for me this year and by far the best. Seems like you team is finally finding some chemistry. Still too much dump & chase for my liking but it's getting there.
Ekblad is really really good, he's the real deal. Thought Bjugs and Bergie were the best forwards. And you could see the relief on the faces of Barkov and Jokinen when they finally got their first points of the season
This team needs two things:
1. An above average top line scoring winger.
We really need one legit goal scorer that can really take the pressure off of some of the youngsters. I think a guy like Eberle would be ideal for Barkov's line, because Barky is so good defensively, he can cover Eberle's miscues.
2. A veteran Dman to pair with Gudbranson.
I like Olsen, but we need a vet to play with Guds. You see what a vet like Soupy can do with Ekblad, and Mitchell can do with Kuli, so I think a vet paired with Guds would work out for him better.
I think its time Tallon starts mortgaging part of our future. Our 1st next year, and a handful of prospects, are off limits, but anything else should be in play. If we can add those two pieces to this team, I don't see why we couldn't compete for a playoff spot.
Its so awesome that Sasha and Ekblad are roommates.
I must say our defense 5 on 5 has been outstanding. Good support by our offense guys supporting our defensemen with easy breakouts. The amount of turnovers compared to last year is way way down.
Still concerned about our PK not doing enough. To much room for opposition to do whatever they want, need to block shots, get aggressive.

That power play goal last night was beautiful.
It looked like a power play should.
yeah the avs did score a couple.
I guess it depends team wise. Veteran players (I think it was 600 or 800 games) can get their own room however if they want it.I like that Barkov and Ekky are roommates. It helps Barky learn english and it gets him out of his 'comfort zone' from being all the time with finnish guys and spesking finnish all the time.
Edit: do the roommates change oftenly? Do they get pick who to room up with or do the coaches have the say? Just wondering.
Assuming Bolland is back for Arizona, Upshall has to be the one who sits at this point right?

Him or Flash IMO. Upshall brings energy but keeps taking dumb penalties which is inexcusable. Flash just can't score. I don't see Bolland being on the bench and he's been ok anyway.
I wouldn't change a thing going into the Arizona game.
The reason to leave Pirri in the lineup is what happened in the first period. Pirri set the tone last night with a first period snipe. Gallant would be insane to take him out. ESPECIALLY against a stingy team like the Yotes. We need all the finishers in the lineup to capitalize on limited opportunities.
I will be furious if Pirri doesn't play in Arizona. The kid was in the play nonstop during the game and got a nice goal out of it. I understand not sitting Bolland either, but maybe move Pirri to wing and sit Kopecky? Gallant's going to have his hands full with that decision all season unless someone gets traded.
Bolland doesn't deserve to sit.
