From a Florida perspective, this feels like the beginnings of a setup for off-season UFA shopping. Tallon doesn't make this trade if he doesn't intend on subsequently flipping one of, if not both, Brassard and Sheahan.

They will and because they have a lot of cap space they can take a bad contract back also. So they probly can squeeze 1st + B/C lvl prospect and cap dumb for Brassard.

I like the trade for both teams. Panthers want to spend in FA, Pens want to get players under contract who are still young and have room for improvement (Bjugstad's only 26 and McCann's only 22).
