That’s why Holland has to remake the d this off-season.
I sure hope Broberg advances fast.

If Doughty, Keith or Weber played for us and made a couple of mistakes guaranteed the same people on here would rip them apart
I didn't know laughing was childish. His assessment of the player was ludicrous. Almost as if he was biased against him
Sorry, it was a feeble “play” on a really annoying commercial that airs in Canada. I’m sure your pants are spectacular!yes, yes they are
Nah every d man makes mistakes but Nurse makes mistakes that he never learns from.
Your earlier response to me. "What's wrong with you? He has his opinion and you laugh at it like a child? Isn't that how I was when I came on here. You've been on here for a while and you're still acting like a kid"
Practice what you preach.
You're incredible in such a bad way. I'll stop here
Calling it now. This is the worst Oilers team of the McDavid era. We'll finish 6th in the North and around 28th in the league.

3-6 start is likely curtains on a 56 game season.
I know it may be a bit different because of ALL divisional play, but the average points per game it's taken for teams to make the playoffs over the last 5 years is 1.13. Means the Oilers need 57~ points in their final 47 games.
26-17-4.... 27-17-3.. something along those lines. They aren't doing this running Koskinen into the ground, and they aren't doing it with Barrie over Klefbom.
If I was Nuge, wouldn't even sign here if they offered me $7 mil. I'd be getting the f*** out.
Some bright spots...lol
- Caleb Jones had a decent game. Not great, but steady. Baby steps. Hopefully he can build on it.
- Drai was great again, but is getting very little help at evens. Ymao provides a bit of spark, but Kahun has no hands, and plays on the perimeter most of the time.
- McDavid was also great, with very little help.
- Nurse had his best game of the year, IMO
To me, it's become clear. Not only are we wasting McDavid and Drai at evens, but the people on their lines are drowning. Enough with the f***ing Kahun/Drai experiment. We've lost Nuge as a result and are at risk of completely losing Yamo. We need both of them to step it up big time, especially Nuge. Put him back on the DRY line, and put Kahun with McDavid, if you must play him in a top 6 spot. McDavid does a lot of his work solo anyhow, so if it somehow works, great.
You’re right there. Lebron took some garbage Cavs teams to the finals multiple times. Curry is single handedly making golden state a decent competitor this yearBasketball is not a legit comparison due to how much two players can play in the game, and the limited roster and how much of a component just 2 players can be on a team.
Football, I grant you but with proviso that QB position determines results, or can, even more than goaltending. Baseball? Pitching and Hitting is King?
The trouble with the Oilers is they are successor of the Socialist draft system, where the worst clubs get the best picks. Pitts got Crosby not because they were worst, they won a lottery due to a lockout season as I recall.
The Oilers got all the first picks they did because they are a grossly incompetent org, which has just continued on the same path of being grossly incompetent. Not entirely surprising. Nothing really changed.
Nicholson was never an answer. Just what I call a gladhander hanger on. The type of person that doesn't know a lick more than another GM, he just has the good contacts. Which means he always has a job, not that he's necessarily better than others would be. This is the person that our previous dunderheads chose to hire. Incompetence begats incompetence.
No easy answers. As previous Ballard, and Wirtz demonstrated you could be incompetent for a long time and the whole org gets infected with it. It sounds silly, but you really do have to do a full flush and start over. The oilers didn't really do that, they still had the hangers on having input in decisions. Which they demonstrated they were imminently not qualified to do. i mean what kind of idiots fire Krueger, and hire Eakins, Chiarelli/Nicholson in succession. After having hired senile Pat Quinn.
The one opportunity to redirect that this org had, to potential excellence, was Kreuger, but MacT or Lowe were either too dense to understand or comprehend his acumen, or too threatened by it. Incompetent managers prefer to hire incompetent people. That way they limit competition for their own positions.
But yeah, the ineptitude of this org subsequent to the dynasty is pretty epic. Success can corrupt.
I do think there's something to it. Why do players always underperform when they come here? None of our offseason signings have looked adequate so far. AA already has three goals with the Kings. Ennis meanwhile is waiver wire fodder, for instance.
who tf said Nurse doesn't deserve 7m
edit: this is only for yesterday's game but still. He has been playing very well given the role he's been thrown in
I sure hope Broberg advances fast.
He's had some shaky moments but he improved the PP when Barrie couldn't get it up. Nurse does make some braindead moves and is getting more minutes than he should, if everything lined up perfectly we'd be complaining about Klefbom instead.do you think nurse is a number 1 or 2 D?

"Stuck with nurse" lmao. holy hot takes..Ultimately we aren’t going to convince each other of anything.
We’re stuck with Nurse so hopefully he learns to defend at some point.
because you're using a sample size of like 7 games?who tf said Nurse doesn't deserve 7m

Even funnier when people say hes worth 4-4.5 max.who tf said Nurse doesn't deserve 7m
