Should have been top pairing, and had power play time.

They didn't put him in the ideal scenario to flourish and show what he can do.
What did he do to show he deserved any of that? Boqvist is clearly better suited for both of those roles over him, so why would they gift it to Ian instead?

They were fighting for a playoff spot for a good portion of the season so he’s not going to be gifted a top pairing spot.

Boqvist was much better on the PP and Mitchell never really showed anything to suggest he deserved a bunch of time on the PP.

Mitchell should have been on the 1st pairing and PP?!

But I went with happy and unsurprised.
There are some surprises every season. So, in that way - its .... not? a surprise that some guys stood out more than we expected.

But the number of wins and place in the standings doesn't surprise me. I figured the wins would be a little more spread out instead of them looking great for stretches. But hockey is weird.

Not surprised they missed the playoffs or their standings position. Unhappy because the Hawks are as flawed defensively as they were last year. Rookies make mistakes. Young players go through growing pains. I'd be a lot more optimistic about this team if they weren't getting completely waxed in chances/shots almost every night.

At end of day while many rookies showed they could play and Kane/Debrincat/Kubalik played well the issues team still has with regard to coaching , defense and goaltending remain

So the negatives outweigh positives at this point and with JC to return and very little likely to change with roster there isn't much to be hopeful for

Okay you buncha beauties last roundup 2021 GDTs.

Learned a lot from 'em, T/y to all the guys put 'em together, plenty of LOLs gotten looking at, and still in bewilderment trying to decipher HF50's hieroglyphics but gives me something work on in the off season.
Let's go out w/ a W.
GoHawks

PS - Just kidding onya HF50, yer passion for HFawks as clear as your comments not but ... what the Hell? "That's hockey, baby."

Kane has not scored a goal on 10 consecutive games...Only 2 goals in last 21 games(and 1 was an en goal).

Kane average over 14 seasons to date is .395 goals per game ...so this is way below average
(.0952 goals a game over lastc21 games).
And hevis down below hos average goals per game this seadon compared to his expected season goal per game stats..

Yes...piling up assists but not filling the net lije he usually can.

So will he break tge cokd spell tonight?

Why is Mitchell playing?

Surely another kid should get look over him

He has been up there with Strome for worst Hawk all season (I would argue he has been the worst Hawk)

Nobody here gives answers like that when topics like this are mad.

It's the forever... Q messed up by not taking Zeus off 2C sooner... and replace him with... ..... well nobody ever has an answer. They certainly agree not Kruger either yeah... but who else... um you know, just not him.

If anything it gives him a chance to end the season on a high note and take the tiniest bit of momentum into next year.... and if not, well we are exactly where we are right now.
