If your good players aren’t good in the playoffs you don’t win. Need way more from our 21 million dollar duo.

The Oilers lost today because of this f***ing coach

Idiot coaches not to lose instead of to win.

Puts in Fn Kookoo and Kassian ... in the first game of the playoffs, then the last 2 min doesn't call a timeout.. pulls the fn goalie when we don't have possession with Leon and Connor barely coming of the bench... he's a moron.

Tippett getting his ass outcoached again, the other team dictating the style of play completely.

He does this. Why mess with the lines going into the playoffs. No puck movement from the backend. Kassian in for Shore? 1 guy tries and 1 guy is...well I don’t know what he does

Our best players lost us this game. Drai, McDavid, Nurse and Barrie were bad. Bear looked awful.

Oh well it's just 1 game, we haven't lost at home....oh. just glad to be here.

Glad we saw what kassian provided, bring back shore. Love Mcleod but put in ennis, he is just to green to play this heavy style and produce.

It's just like the Chicago series. They outshoot them but the opposition goes to the dirty areas to score their goals, a rebound in tight and a tip in front.
If the Oilers aren't scoring off the rush, they aren't generating much. Fancy dan hockey doesn't work in the playoffs, they need to adjust.

Disappointing but I had a feeling that they would struggle in a tight checking game. Too many people assumed it would be easy because of the 7-2 regular season record. This isn't the regular season anymore.

One game. Difference was a fluke goal and a goal Smitty probably should have had. It goes like that sometimes, but if you were watching the game and thinking we got outplayed I don't know what you're thinking.

Would give a secondary assist to the reffing too. Not calling a couple penalties before the 2nd goal and then literally assisting the 3rd goal really had an impact on this game. People saying "WeLL ThAT's JuST PlAYoFF HoKCEY" obviously aren't watching the other series. Obvious infractions shouldn't fly.

Come out flying in Game 2 and treat it like an elimination game.

Another year of McDavid down the drain

I'm going to be so excited to see Holland lock up Larsson for another 4 years to provide absolutely zero offense from the back. And then not get top 6 wingers because his "hands are tied".

good shit

Horrible.

Thought we carried the play most of the game.

Goaltending was the difference. We generated some chances but unfortunately didn’t bury them. Helle played well. 2 empty goals is tough to give up.

On to game 2.

Make no mistake, its been two years, this is Ken Holland's team. If Mcdavid and Leon can't do it all, the rest of the team just wilts and dies.

Perfect way for that crap game to end. The ref deflects the puck with his skate for the Jets to get control and get the empty netter.

No one was good tonight. Like to point out anyone in particular but everyone was average. Like regular season average. Our big advantage of the top guns didn’t exist in the slightest tonight. Guess Winnipeg studied tapes of all the Montreal games.

Game 2 is, for all intents and purposes, an elimination game.

They don't come out and play like it, they don't even deserve to be in the playoffs and should probably just forfeit the rest of the series. Solid first 2 periods, other than the lack of offense but the 3rd period gave off the impression of last year's bubble Oilers against Chicago.

Maybe this team just doesn't have the ability to fight through obstruction, a neutral zone trap and boring playoff hockey.

Why the hell would you activate Kassian after sitting for over a month, who was useless prior to even getting injured?

That being said the entire team was a solid 3/10 top to bottom. How do you show up to the playoffs 3/10?
