For those who really follow the prospects, where do you set the tiers?

Obv. Dahlin is no doubt #1. As I have read and heard, the groupings seem to go

Dahlin

Zadina/Svechnikov

Boqvist/Tkachuk/Hughes

then a dog pile of guys who right now could go 7-12 or so, and that the demarcation line between 'sure fire' (as sure fire as 18 year olds can be I suppose) vs uncertainty is 7th and beyond. Is that a reasonable assessment?

Buffalo, Vancouver and Edmonton all desperately need D. I can easily see Boqvist or another D going ahead of some of the top wingers (Svechnikov/Zadina/Tkachuk).
I think it’s slam dunk with the first 2

Dahlin
Svechnikov

If Ottawa or Edmonton are picking 3-4-5, I believe they’ll nab Boqvist over the wingers, but I’m convinced as for the wingers, it’ll go

1.Svechnikov
2.Zadina
3.Tkachuk

With the aforementioned defenceman possibly being in front or between them.

People were looking at 10 points behind the last playoff team to call it a day. The 9th worst team is already 9 points up on us  we’re guaranteed a bottom 8 finish optimists!

I wish we could draft Samuel L'Italien in the 7th round. His name just cracks me up. Just imagine the confusion for francophone listeners if he ever makes it to the NHL.

Staying 4th worse is pretty solid position; the bottom 3 teams are likely to far ahead.

Sens are 5 points back with two games in hand and we play Anaheim who lost to Ottawa tonight. They’ll be looking to rebound.

Imagine if his father is L'Italien, his mother's name is Langlais and his first name is François.
François Langlais-L'Italien : total confusion !!

The only D I see Sens, Oiler or Sabres drafting is Dahlin. I can't see any of those teams passing on Tkachuk assuming Svechnikov & Zadina are gone.

Tkachuk is NHL ready both in his game & physically.

Oilers with a Tkachuk - McDavid - Puljujarvi line is pretty enticing.

Tkachuk showed great chemistry with Mittelstadt at the WJC.

I can see the Senators liking him too.

Lots of D depth in this draft. I can see Svechnikov, Zadina & Tkachuk going 1-2-3 after Dahlin.

The team that gets 5th likely takes Boqvist, but Hughes could be an option for Oilers too if they think he's NHL ready & can step in & contribute next year.

Dahlin & the big 3 forwards get drafted first.
