The Flyers have signed two more forwards to add more depth to our organization. We have signed LW Ben Eager, and C Marcel Goc. Eager will be playing on our 4th line with Glen Metropolit and Arron Asham. He will make 900K/year over 3 years. Goc will be our 13th forward, and he will be making 800K/year over two years.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have pretty much rounded out their roster by agreeing to a one year deal with unrestricted free agent forward Jere Lehtinen. The deal is worth 1 million and has a player option for a second year worth 1.25 million.

In addition, the following players are available by trade: Marc Methot, Raffi Torres and Derek Dorsett. PM if interested.

Canes ink some deals:

Woywitka for 900k for 2 years
Veilleux for 900k for 3 years
Skoula for 750k for 2 years

Helping shore up our depth while being affordable.

It's funny I think the most fun I have in the FA games is bargain shopping UFAs. Keep your Hossa's and Bouwmeesters. I'll ice a whole line and defense pairing for the same price! :naughty:

And yes I am jealous that professional athletes make more money than I do. ;)

I certainly will! And both of them too!! :D

I really did it all in this game and seeing it's the last one, I could'nt ask for better.

Made some sick trades, sign the best UFA there was and made some nice find on the UFA. Might not look like much but one of my favorite move was to get Zigomanis for 500k for my 4th line center on the Habs, Veilleux was a target of mine but I decided to stick with kostopoulos for 1 more year instead.

All in all, that was a great game for me, going out on top for FA game of summer 2009!!

...On the other my real Habs....well yeah let's just leave it at that.

WHEN/WILL there be a FA game 9?

There won't be, most GMs are done in this game, free agency starts tomorrow and with the timing it just doesn't look like there will be another one.

I've had fun this year. Last year was a lot better (better GMs, more jokes, more posts and multiple threads, more ridiculous signings and cap errors, and FA Game 11 which included all of those.)

But still, a good time this year. Have a good summer everyone.

Seriously have we gotten to a thread #2 at all in any of the games this year? game #11 last year got 4 threads lol.

I might try a 2010 offseason game in mid summer when all of us are really bored...

I like the game where a guy actually made a fake account to stack up a team then claimed it was his brother.

I think that was in GM games over the winter, but still that was funny.

In other news, the Predators have signed Ruslan Fedotenko 3 years $8.25M, with a NTC the first two years.

Barring a trade, the Preds are done.

With about 250k to spare (probably more if Lilja and/or Holmstrom starts on the IR, which in real life looks likely). Looks lie an awesome lineup given the circumstances, the Top 6 is a little worse with Hossa gone, but Z, Dats and Franz are still top-drawer players, and the bottom 6 is younger, cheaper, and about even talent-wise with Jones, Helm and Chipchura replacing Hudler, Sammy and Kopecky.
The D adds Ericsson, without losing anyone (except maybe Lilja if he doesnt return) so that improves, the the Goaltending gets a big boost with Osgood and Harding splitting 50/30 so Ozzie can be his rested and dominant self come playoffs.

Overall, it's about as good as last year's team. Some fo the West teams have gotten better, but I'm still confident in saying the Wings are the team to beat. That's just one man's opinion...
