Big upgrade in the Top 6
Kind of an awkward bottom 6, Voracek won't fit in very well IMO. Some good bottom 6 players, Raffi Torres or someone to add some grit would be good. I would of used some of the cap space to work on your defense, lots of good #4-6 guys out there that are a million times better then Woywitka.

But, overall pretty good! You got Richards back so

Thanks man.

And I really didn't realize that that Hagman contract did turn out to hurt me in the end.

I was in the running for a good defensemen but I lost the bidding war and by the time that was over all the top d-men were gone.

Appreciate the feedback.

Well, it looks like we can't do much better, due to our monster contracts (just kidding), but here's your 2011-12 New Jersey Devils.

Wasn't Steve Sullivan signed by TB?
And Sergei Kostitsyn signed an offer sheet. Was it matched?

Dang, that's what I get for not updating my depth chart on time... haha!

And I got no problem with those two being gone - if Kostitsyn took the 3M, that's a 1st and a 3rd for a 50 point scorer. Done.

They're replaceable.

CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter)
(these totals are compiled using the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $62,200,000; CAP PAYROLL: $48,778,333; BONUSES: $1,282,500
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $14,704,167

We lost alot of talent via FA but the prices were too high for our fixed budget to win the price wars

We acquired some talent in need of a change of scenery in Olesz and Parent. Canes have had success turning players around in past and hope to repeat that. Another young talent Frolik was added and vets Goc and Asham were brought aboard. Due to high costs of RW on FA market and the loss of Erik Cole and Jussi Jokinen to FA we were forced to move Brandon Sutter into our #2 C spot and Skinner to wing. Goc should lesson the blow as he is a quality #3 C.

We suffered a major loss on defense with Pitkanen leaving via FA but Hamrlik and Hejda are both quality vets who should help at least allow the Canes to field a solid 1-6 defense

Via the draft we moved down from #12 acquiring #25 and #28 picks and then moved C Zac Dalpe to Wild for 29th overall

25th overall - LW/RW Vladislav Namestnikov - London (OHL)
28th overall - RW/LW Nikita Kucherov - CSKA Moscow
29th overall - RW Tomas Jurco - Saint John (QMJHL)

So after this difficult offseason the Canes believe the transition of some younger players to big club (Boychuk and Bowman) and the vets acq via FA that we should be in contention for playoff in a rather weak East

I'm pretty sure 3 mil is just a 2nd in compensation.

We're pretty excited with our line-up. Even though we lost out on the Bieksa sweepstakes ( we offered him 5 mil prior to FA ). We still like our defense, which is deeper with Coliacovo and Clitsome. Also our forward depth has Improved with the acquisitions of 27-goal scorer David Jones, Playoff ace Sean Bergenheim, and Brandon Yip. We feel that we got a bit younger and tougher to play against. In goal, we shipped out Schneider to bring in Jones, but we picked up Hart trophy winner Jose Theodore to be a strong veteran back-up for Luongo.

Feel free to comment on my team!

Still love the deal without Salo and Bieksa. However, Edler-Ehrhoff is the undisputed top pair for Vancouver

The New York Rangers continue there busy day with the re-signing of UFA Ruslan Fedotenko who was an absolute warrior last season under Torts. He can play anywhere in the line-up and he can play on either wing as well as kill penalties and put up 25-30 points. We feel this is our second absolute steal of the day along with Brunette.

1 year @ .75 million

As his agent I wish I could remember him re-signing with you, but I don't. And I can't find a PM indicating we even discussed him. Did I miss something?

Added some much needed size, grit and toughness on the team without changing the make up of the team. We push the stanley cup finalist to overtime game 7 with a bang up injured team, keeping as much of the team was important to us.

We think we'll be underrated and overlooked again but that's the way we like it. We have 3 solid offensive line and a good 4th line that can bring alot of energy. Our defence is good if it stays healthy. We have high hopes for Yemelin aswell as Raphael Diaz who will start in Hamilton to push the other defencemans for ice time.

A great duo in nets. Harding might need some time to readjust after missing the whole year and getting the surgery, but he is a quality goaltender so we expect him to give us some good hockey and give us a chance to rest Carey Price more.
