Very happy with the moves we were able to make. Strengthened what was already the best defensive core in the league with the addition of another top 4 defender in Trevor Daley, and added a second number one center with Claude. From top to bottom this is probably the best team in the league on paper, and even better once Fiala returns.

By far the best team Arizona has ever had, and under the tutelage of Dave Tippett, a team that should go far in the playoffs. I set out to create a playoff viable team without sacrificing too much of the identity Arizona has built up. With a solid mix of young and old players, as well as players just entering their prime, Arizona should be able to be a competitive team for years in the future.

:sabres are pleased to announce the signing of Martin Hanzal to a 1 year deal @ $4,250,000. We felt we needed to add a veteran center to help ease Eichel and Reinhart into being the top centers on the team. We will rely on Martin to take key faceoffs and mentor our young team.

Final roster:

Larkin(925k)-Eichel(925k)"A"-Okposo(6m)
Kane(5.25m)-Reinhart(894,166)-A. Nylander(894,166)
Moulson(5m)-Hanzal(4.25m)-Ennis(4.6m)
Larsson(2.25m)-Girgensons(2m)-Foligno(2.75m)
Malone(883,750), Carrier(689,167)

Hanifin(925k)-Ristolainen(5.4m)"C"
McCabe(1.6m)-Shattenkirk(7.5m)"A"
Gorges(3.9m)-Gudbranson(3.75m)
Merrill(1,137,500)

Varlamov(5.9m)
Pickard(1m)

Buyout - $41,667

$68,465,416/$75,500,000

We feel the team going into the 17-18 season will be very competitive despite being so young. The forwards have gotten younger while still having vets like Hanzal and Moulson to help mentor them, the defense has been completely revamped and will be competitive for many year, and we feel we have a solid goaltending tandem that can split games and not have to rely on going god mode to win games like on their previous team due to them now having a solid defense in front of them.

We got caught with our pants down with losing Fowler to VGK. But we're happy to add a proven #1 G in Schneider and some veteran depth.

Well, I think that is likely it for games until the fall comes around. I recently started a new job so my time will be a bit more limited as I put in some extra hours to learn the ropes. With expansion/related deals likely to come quickly next week, it would be difficult to maintain the realism that we normally strive for anyways.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the games this year, and a huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time in administrative roles!

Enjoy the offseason and summer!

Hey, hope everyone had good summers! For the time being, I'm not going to be able to commit to running the league as I am busy balancing work, classes and some persistent health issues. I'm hoping that as the season progresses, I might be a bit more organized and have the time to put in the work for this, but for now I am going to have to focus on other things.
