TRADE ANNOUNCEMENT

:avs :jets

The Winnipeg Jets have acquired forward Ryan O'Reilly, goaltender prospect Calvin Pickard and Colorado 1st round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, in exchange, to Avalanche receive defenseman Tobias Enstrom, forward Michael Frolik, forward prospect Jimmy Lodge and Winnipeg 1st round selection in the Draft.

''Ryan (O'Reilly) wil be a big building piece for us. He's a beast of a two-way forward, he's big and strong, with load of offensive upside, already putting top line number at 23 years old. His work-ethic is also off-the-chart, a great leader and team player. He's exactly the type of player we want in what we are building''.

''Calvin (Pickard) is a solid goaltender prospect with high upside. A Winnipeg boy, he's a goalie with good size and solid technically. With Hellebuyck, Cormie, Pasquale, Hutchinson and now Pickard in the system the goalie situation looks very bright for future. We want to wish good luck to Tobias, Michael and Jimmy in Colorado''.

Thanks to Avs44 for the smooth negotiations.
:avs confirm. Incredibly tough to move O'Reilly but with the dismal free agent class and the miserable state of the Avs' current defence, moving O'Reilly was the only way to significantly upgrade our biggest weakness(somehow nobody wants Parenteau for a top 4 defensman, shocking). Enstrom should fulfill the Avs' need of a left handed top pairing puck moving defensman and Frolik is a fantastic bottom 6 forward. We also now own the 9th overall pick in the draft.

Johnny Boychuk

:bruins
Stefan Noesen
Anaheim's 2014 2nd rounder
Anaheim's 2015 5th rounder

Since Robidas deciding to test FA we felt the need to bring in a new RHD to our top 4. Boychuk is someone we really like who we are happy to add to our D. Although Noesen is a good prospect that we liked we have a plethora of good young forwards most of which are signed longterm and felt he was expendable. With 4 picks in the top 60 we also deemed the late 2nd to be expendable also

Now looking to move Allen/Souray for a pick or prospect of any kind

Rakell, Theodore, Etem (maybe) Vatanen (maybe) Sbisa (maybe) and Anaheims 1st OTB looking for top 6 wingers

:bruins

Boston confirms. We felt that with the emergence of Krug, Bartkowski, Miller and Hamilton that we could move Boychuk for what we think is a future hard-nosed 3rd line forward and a couple of draft choices.

In sayi that, we are still in the market for another 2nd line center and a legit top pairing dman.

Culture Change; Leafs acquire Weber, Cullen, Budish from Nashville

Shea-Weber1-590x395.jpg

If it was a culture change that was needed, the Leafs sure did start big.

In a press conference today at the Air Canada Centre, the organization announced that they have acquired Norris winning defenceman Shea Weber, along with veteran centre Matt Cullen and hulking winger prospect Zach Budish.

"In Shea Weber, we are fully aware of what we've added to this club. He will represent a massive upgrade on our blueline for the next decade, and will be a cornerstone of what we plan on being several Stanley Cup champions. While adding Matt Cullen is a solid add for leadership in our room as well, and while we love the size Zach Budish will bring to the Marlies, Shea Weber putting on the blue and white makes this a historic day for this franchise."

The acquisition did not come cheap. In return, the Leafs sent rising centre Nazem Kadri, slick skating defenceman Jake Gardiner, and winger Joffrey Lupul to the Predators. Nashville will also receive Toronto's 3rd round selection in the upcoming entry draft.

"We paid a heavy price - Nazem will be a very good player in this league for a long time, and Jake Gardiner has shown what he's capable of doing when he's on his game. Joffrey Lupul will get a ton of ice time to build on what he revived here in Toronto. We think this works well for both clubs.

:nashville confirms

We're excited to bring in two quality top-six forwards in Joffrey Lupul and Nazem Kadri, and an up-and-coming defenseman in Jake Gardiner. This move makes us younger and faster, and provides a considerable boost to our offense.

We'd like to thank Shea Weber for his years of service in Nashville and wish him the best of luck with the Maple Leafs. It's never easy giving up a player of that caliber, but it was a step in the right direction as we try to add high-end skill to our group of forwards.

Still interested in picking up a top-six winger and a top-four defenseman. We have a few centers available, including Mike Fisher, Calle Jarnkrok and Paul Gaustad. Fielding offers on Ryan Ellis and Michael Del Zotto as well. Also open to trading prospects and our 1st-round pick (11th overall) for the right offer.

:kings are here if anyone wants to talk trade. Mike Richards is the most likely to move but willing to talk trade on others. Biggest need is a LH'ed, top 4 shutdown d-man.

The Remodeling Continues; Leafs add McQuaid from Bruins

The Toronto Maple Leafs have added again to their blueline today, adding Bruins defenceman Adam McQuaid in exchange for Tony Cameranesi and Toronto's 6th round selection in the upcoming Entry Draft.

"In Adam McQuaid, we've added a solid, gritty presence to our blueline corps that we feel is going to add an extra element to our team. We've been immensely impressed by Adam in his time with the Bruins, and he is going to be a huge add to our team."

Very difficult to make trades with so little teams rebuilding. If you have a top line RW available, let us know. Only untouchables are Price, Subban, Galchenyuk (and maybe Pacioretty). We could also consider a top 6 RW.

Rights to Vanek and Markov are also available.

Willing to discuss other trade ideas as long as it makes sense. Looking for hockey trades.

PM!
