Tankov is quickly becoming another pre-NHL legend in these parts….can anyone say Janne Pesonen?

Looks like SKA Neva has a preseason game today at 12noon Eastern. If I'm not being lazy I may watch. Also, not sure if he's playing.

edit

doesn't look like he's playing

He played at the Sochi Hockey Open (KHL Preseason tournament) for Team Russia Young Stars and SKA. He scored for SKA in the last game and scored a few points for Team Russia.

Goal combination vs Dinamo Minsk started at 1:08. Tankov is #26.

His goal for SKA at 1:40

If he ever comes to NA he won't score the whole lot of points but be a fan favorite. Because big guys who skate like wind and can outstickhandle the whole five are usually liked by fans.

It’s always good to quote Bulgakov. A man for all occasions. At a satanic orgy? Quote Bulgakov. Making fun of Soviet bureaucracy? Quote Bulgakov. Drunk on the train to Petushkii? Wait, you’d better quote Yerofeyeov.

Pretty great we can even talk about a 7th rounder coming over to NA. Him getting one NHL game would make it a great pick

If he can be a skilled middle 6er… and a fan favorite? sensational pick

I think it’ll take like 3-4 years though.

Definitely.

And I’m obv hoping we can get even more out of Puustinen but even if he doesn’t play another NHL game still a successful R7 pick imo.

It's better and healthier that we keep our expectations low around here. So let's just assume Puustinen has played his one and only NHL game ever. By definition, that will make him a "successful" pick, even though our Stanley Cup hopes hinge on him becoming the next Patrick Kane or Johnny Gaudreau.
