These health authorities (I'd like to use another word) are finding something else to ruin. There should be no reason why he can't do his two weeks (or 10 days), and then fly over to Canada on the ~20th. He could then do his few days that he needs to sit out, and be ready for when the tournament starts. The same applies for Eklund. Ruining these kids chances to play in the WJC because of these archaic rules is really disgusting, in my opinion.

I know Frolunda is really good and he doesn't play that much per game, but is his season not a little disappointing? 6 points in 35 for a second round pick in his D+2 team is pretty bad. He doesn't even have a goal yet this season. It's worth mentioning that he has 35 SOG this season, so he's also getting unlucky.

Karl Henriksson played with Joel Lundqvist and Max Friberg today in Frölunda's first competitive game of the season, against Mladá Boleslav in the CHL.

Henriksson finished the game with 2 assists, which is a nice start to the season. He's not AHL eligible until the 2023-24 season, so unless he make the Rangers team, he will be spending 2 years in the SHL still.

If he can build on this, and the pre-season he had, we hopefully see him make the jump we all need him to make to eventually be useful in the NHL. The kid is still only 20 years old.

How is he not eligible for the AHL until 23/24?

Due to the transfer agreement the NHL has with the SHL.

Looking forward to seeing him in preseason. But expecting him to return to Frolunda for the season, which will probably be best for his development. Unless he blows everyone away, but not expecting that. Still could have a bright future though.

I like his work ethic but I just don't see much in terms of offensive upside at all. Being a smaller guy that likely makes it difficult for him to really carve out an NHL role imo.

Another self important NHL team that cares more about themselves than the development of their prospects.

Henriksson has no chance to make the Rangers NHL roster. Taking away from his SHL season is stupid.

No he has no shot at making the NHL this season, but he's taken huge strides in his development over the summer and looks both stronger and most importantly a lot quicker on his skates. He's been one of Frölunda's best players in the pre-season, and I think it's good for him to go over and test his abilities. It's good for the player and the team.

Sent back to the SHL.

He lost about three weeks of the SHL season to play two rookie camp games and one preseason game. He was ineffective in all three games. This management team is such a disaster. If he doesn’t develop, he will never become good enough for the NHL team. Taking away three weeks of that so you can see him in your own colors is the mark of a stupid team.

You don’t think skating in an NHL training camp is good for his development?

By your logic we shouldnt invite any prospects to camp then.

Karl has been playing really good hockey lately. Tons of hustle. Nice to see him rewarded with a goal.
