Wow well thats 3 on 3 for you. Guy gets caught in behind skating back and ends up scoring the game winner.

Bruce might have to make them simplify it a bit again like last year. Maybe a bit to wild at times as fun as it is to watch.

Who was that idiot forward that ran into Rathbone behind the net and injured himself
After blowing his coverage after a basic 2 on 2

Yea if Silovs wasn’t in net I’m sure we wouldn’t have played like as as a team. Pretty much his fault entirely our vets phoned it in all period.

Nils Aman, who was otherwise decent tonight imo. Better than expected

That was Aman. Karlsson also made a poor play aggressive diving for the puck off the faceoff.

No sweat, those guys are new to it.

Couple of disjointed thoughts:

-Poolman looks like a guy who missed a lot of time, hadn’t had a full off-season. The other problem, he was bad when he was healthy
-Burroughs is competent; he’s maximizing enough secondary skills to make him a good NHL depth guy
-defence is still terrifying, even without injuries; with everyone healthy I figure they could tread water for a bit; maybe later in the season Rathbone would be able to play up in the lineup; with what they have a top-4 guy is needed so badly
-Kuzmenko and Pettersson is going to be loads of fun; they think the game the same way and read off each other; they’ve only been together a short time and already look like linemates from way back
-very impressed with Pettersson’s effort; he looks determined to cement himself as a gamebreaker
-Hoglander seemed invisible and then suddenly wasn’t
-Aman’s skating really sets him apart from all the other depth guys; at this point he looks to provide the exact same skills as Dickinson

Just a general observations.....but this particular Canucks lineup was 'soft'. Kraken lineup didn't have a fraction of the talent, but as long as you shut down the ice and win a majority of the puck battles, you can hang around.

They need to watch the waiver wire to see if there's a few bigger bodies they can pick up. Obviously they need more size up front than Dickinson and Joshua.

Karlsson has played his way into the conversation for the opening night lineup. Thought he was good in this game.

Liked:
- Petey is going to have a monster year
- Kuzmenko. 30-30 is not unrealistic for this guy. Adds dynamic element to PP1 and has displaced Boeser
- Joshua is good at his role. I think he's made the team
- Hog had good energy
- Hughes looks like he's smurfing in a beer league most of the time
- Burroughs decent. Really earning that 7D spot
- Aman was better than expected. Could just throw him in there instead of Dickinson and no one would notice much
- Karlsson similarly - has worked his way in as a solid callup option

Did not like:
- Dekeyser... lights are on but body isn't home
- Poolman sucked
- Lockwood is not even a call up option and has been leapfrogged already. Too small and no offensive chops
- Pearson Miller Garland overall were careless and not trying

Much more entertaining game and much improved through 40 minutes. And then the vets mailed in the 3rd period. Lazy PPs in the 3rd where guys were just goofing off firing from distance and missing the net were probably the difference.

- Pettersson and Kuzmenko outstanding again. For the 2nd straight game Pettersson looked more engaged in the preseason than he looked for two years in actual regular season games. These guys are going to score a lot this year.

- Karlsson on that line ... didn't embarrass himself. Overall had a pretty decent game. Intelligent player. But the footspeed isn't there.

- Miller mailed it in all night and his wingers were pretty good through 40 but awful in the 3rd. Pearson a terrible turnover on both the 3-3 and 4-3 goals. Blech, but it's preseason.

- Aman was the only guy who I thought was better in the 3rd period. Thought that line struggled to maintain possession through 40 minutes and the C was most to blame. Skates well and did have one really good shift in the 3rd. Wonder if he's better suited as a winger for the same reason that Sutter and Dickinson are - when a C doesn't have offensive hockey sense it tends to black hole the line.

- Joshua was a train. Wrecked 3 guys, won a fight, generally smart with the puck and had a couple good chances in the 3rd. Haven't had this sort of physical presence in a long time. Best player on his line. Made a statement tonight.

- Hoglander ... again meh. Had a couple moments where he looked lively but didn't really generate anything and mostly was chasing the play.

- Abbotsford line of Lockwood-Di Giuseppe-Dries was alright. Lockwood was a bit better than the first game but needed to be better yet. Di Giuseppe is probably the 13th forward to start the year.

- Hughes-OEL were mostly good but the RS Hughes thing did have some bad moments including the tying goal. Still a work in progress. Hughes is such a difference-maker offensively for the team.

- Dekeyser is done. Just can't skate. And Poolman can't move the puck, and that pairing was bad.

- thought Burroughs was very good, as he was in the first game. Skated well, very physical, made the right plays with the puck despite being limited there. Rathbone again had some good moments and some bad but overall I thought that pairing had a good night.

- felt for Silovs. I don't know why goalies are OK to play 60 minutes in the prospects tourney but not weeks later in preseason. Give guys the whole game.
