I’d keep him over Benning, not Bouchard but they likely don’t want 2 rookies on the blue line.

This but I'm likely focusing too heavily on his abysmal performance last season and not entirely his fault because we were seriously hurting on D. Sekera out and Klefbom injured the whole time.
It's not exactly problem having some reliable call-ups and depth on D now. Feels good!

Keep both, i have a feeling Bouchard surprises everyone. That is if Mclellan isn't and idiot and will actually give him a chance to use his shot on the powerplay. Hes not European though so his English skills won't be criticized and he will get a fairer shot.

Trust me, he's an idiot. Now that Woodcroft is gone I actually feel sort of bad for criticizing him so much last season because it's apparent that Todd is in control of everything especially this brilliant idea of
5 Left 5 Right 1 & 2 PP lines...This is Eakins level stupidity.

Bear staying in the AHL and 9 games for Bouchard isn't out of the question. How Bouchard performs in that time should determine if he stays or goes back to junior. If Bouchard stays then the pressure will be on Benning to keep his spot. But that would probably mean we'll be carrying 2 extra D on the roster because I see Garrison getting signed too.

But Bouchard will have to play pretty great to not get sent back. Which will be fine for the team to slide his ELC a year or two if Bear and Bouchard are close to being even.

I predict Bear will start in the AHL and will come up after Bouchard gets his 9 games. And there's nothing wrong with any of that.

If Yamamoto makes the big club I think Aberg is going to be the odd man out.

There's some great competition going on atm in camp and I really like it.

Bottom line is, Benning has to be feeling the breathing down his neck from both Bouchard and Bear. He's going to need to step up his game.

Bear has looked rock solid in preseason as the level of comp increased. I say we give Bouch 9 games then roll with Bear as the bottom pair pp specialist for the rest of the season.

By the same token he must have been unhappy with Puljujarvi considering he benched him for OT again.

I do agree with your plan for Bear and Bouchard for sure.

Bear needs to go down while bouchard gets the audition.

THen Bouchard needs to stay up until he's traded to a proper Junior team. Then Bear will come back up

I think Edmonton is going to make what I'm 65-70% sure is the smart choice in going with Bear with the big club this year.

He should stay he is just what the team needs at this point. Great pp guy with a big accurate shot.

Keeo him. Solid D, played solid in his stint last season, best puck mover on the D core. Better to learn how to play against NHL players

I think he’ll play in the A until Bouchard goes back to junior then he’ll be recalled.
