My brothers wife had a miscarriage last year. Also pretty late into the process and I know it’s devestating. Everyone is getting prepared to meet the kid and everything. Almost as bad as losing a infant

Condolences to Erik,his wife and everyone in here that has lost a child no matter the circumstance. My ex had a miscarriage last year. It's a complete stomachache punch and leaves you in a fog for days. That was without even knowing she was pregnant until after. I can not even imagine what it must feel like so far along.

Mark Reeds, their assistant HC, passed away from cancer as well during the 2015 playoffs.

Ottawa has endured some hard times for sure but I believe it’s brought the players closer than ever. Definitely puts things into perspective...

A child who loses his/her parents is called an orphan. A spouse who loses their partner is called a widow(er).

There is no word in the English language for a parent who has lost a child, for the pain is so great no word can capture it.
