People who say +/- is meaningless need to understand that this isn't the point. Being on the ice for 7 goals against in one game is really something odd for ANY player. It is even greater of a thing when the one involved is the best dman in the NHL.

He'd be the best defenseman on the Habs since Doug Harvey

we all understand that we are engaging in a discussion with the team that traded Serg to a division rival for Drouin right? That's the fanbase's scouting ability that they thought, at the time, that it was a good trade.... or trading PK for an aging D....

He had a bad night but to try and convince a group that represents a team failing to hold onto valuable D that they are wrong about our D is silly, they just are incapable of seeing it or retaining that type of player.

Brett Lebda, playing for the Leafs, was -3 in a 9-3 Leafs win...

There were 5 PP goals which don't affect +/-. So he was on the ice for all 3 goals against, but not for any of the 4 even strength. Not that hard for 14 minutes of ice time.

There weren't any PPGs in the 9-0 loss where Brodie was even with 25:00 of ice time (I was wrong earlier saying it was an 8-0 loss with 24 minutes).

Chris Butler was a -7 in that game though!

Karlsson bounces back with 2 apples and a +2 in the very next game, a 3-1 win over Detroit.

Just thought you'd all like to know.

Still no question he sucked hard the Montreal Game which is what the thread was about, and there were moments last night where he wasn't great. The guy is sick...in a week he should be back to his old/new form. Not concerned.

Better game last night but doesn't make up for the nightmare last Monday. He'll be back to form soon. 12 pts in 8 games ain't bad though.

he is one point away from tying Pietrangelo in the defensemen scoring lead while missing a bunch of games

ridiculous

It was one game.

A good game ending in a regulation win makes up for a bad game ending in a loss.

I'm strictly talking about individual performance. In a week or so I won't care but for now it still stings. It was like watching 2014 Karlsson all over again.

When your team's only positive is this year hinges entirely on another team's negative

All the best players in all major sports have bad games. Tom Brady, Michael Jordan etc.

If you were to look at Karlsson's playoff and Olympic #'s. You would see that this guy elevates his game to his highest levels when it really matters. He is also the MOST consistent player in the NHL. Yet all the haters want to take one game early in the season where he didn't skate or walk all summer after foot surgery, when was not expected back until this week (First week of November) didn't play a pre season game, doesn't have his usual partner and Anderson was absolutely HORRID that night. He let in more goals then he stopped lol.

As I said,
Even Tom Brady has bad games.

https://www.cheatsheet.com/sports/nfl-worst-performances-tom-bradys-career.html/?a=viewall

just one of these games Brady got crushed 30-0, had a 50% completion rate and threw 4 interceptions.

Yes. The GOAT has bad games too.

Then again, so many Brady haters..

I see a similarity... People hate the best players.
