The Moore signing in retrospect is a bit curious given Fehr/Aaltonen already in the system (and that both of whose ended up outplaying him). He's looked below replacement level status all preseason

Bit frustrating if Aaltonen gets sent down due to roster issues though.

1. Fehr shouldn't play center. Definitely not with his lack of faceoff ability. Babs should pick between Fehr and Martin on the wing. Babcock rightfully places a ton of value on a guy who can win key faceoffs late in the game - Bozak, Boyle, Moore...Fehr is not that guy.

2. Not 100% sure the issue is as big as it's being made out to be.
Moore starts at 4c
Fehr and Leivo start in press box
Aaltonen to marlies to work on defense and faceoffs.
Seems like a good solution to prevent losing anyone important and keep our incredible depth.

2 most important things for the #4C are 1) PK ability and 2) faceoffs.

and Moore is still most likely better than fehr and altonen in both those areas. maybe much better.

Yup. He'd be on my team.

Good enough to be picked up on waivers for a team like Pitt looking for a center, if the Leafs want cap space.

Not sure Pit's plan was to give us a 4th to take Fehr only to claim him at full price half a year later.

Fehr looked good but at 2 million for a barely NHL player he should clear. Aaltonen can be sent down, so whoever from those 2 doesn't win a spot goes down, Moore as an extra. Unless Moore wins the spot then the last roster spot will be an interesting question.
