How can you sit through a song if the sound is so grating on the ears regardless of how good the lyrics are?
I honestly never really had a problem with the accents. I can see why some would, but it was a Slim Shady album. The lead in with 3 AM being the opener was indicative of that. Some people can tolerate it, others can't.

I, personally, still enjoyed it more than Recovery and find it to be underrated.

As someone who enjoyed both Recovery and MMLP2 (although the latter is definitely my favorite of the two), I don't think this album is as trash as people are making it out to be. It's by no means a classic by Em's standards but I'd still give it somewhere between a 7 and 7.5 (compared to say Recovery which is a 8.75 & MMLP2 a 9.25). I think the album sounds better every time you re-listen to it. That being said, I would be disappointed if this ends up being his last album.

Walk On Water: 7.5/10 (Em has some very good lines in this one)
Believe: 5/10 (Not a fan of trap rap and the chorus is meh but this one is alright I guess)
Chloraseptic: 4/10 (Ditto but this one is even more your cliche trap song of nowadays)
Untouchable: 9/10 (Some don't like it but I do, the chorus is goofy a la White America and the message although very obvious is strong)
River: 8/10 (I like Sheeran so it's not surprising that I liked this one)
Remind Me: 2/10 (I hate this song, although it's not as trash as the first time I heard it but it's definitely skipable. Sounds so awkward and forced with the I Love Rock N Roll sample)
Like Home: 6/10 (Meh it's alright, chorus is nice but some radio friendly song)
Bad Husband: 6/10 (Weird beats in this one, message ain't bad but it's not the best either)
Tragic Endings: 6/10 (Ditto)
Framed: 9/10 (I really like this one for some reason, the beat is sick and i just like the vibe it gives)
Nowhere Fast: 6.5/10 (Ditto)
Heat: 3/10 (This one is easily skipable too)
Offended: 7/10 (This one is kind of weird, I'm pretty meh on the chorus but there are some good lines in this one)
Need Me: 6.5/10 (Cheap version of love the way you lie)
In Your Head: 9/10 (Love the original Cranberries song plus love the added drums)
Castle: 8/10
Arose: 8/10

Essentially as pointed out, you remove some the crap songs and this album looks much better. That being said, I recall MM saying he wanted to have every song sound different, which I think is something that he definitely achieved, for better or worse I guess. I can respect that decision although it will inevitably hurt his sales with the bad reviews this album will get. This album is essentially a worse version of Recovery & Relapse.

His choppy try hard flow sucks. The beats expose the flow even more compounding the issue. Em has always been political so nothing new there. Very underwhelming album and its time to go the way of Dre. Lyrically and world play is still top notch, but its not music to the ears, far from it.

YO GUYS,

Relapse was the worst worst album of Em's career.

Saying MMLP2 and Revival are worst make me sick to my stomach.

And Recovery was good too.

Relapse was g-a-r-b-a-g-e.

Relapse is better than Revival. It's not even close to me imo.

Production on Relapse is better, not as much poppy bullshit, bars are sick, accents didn't annoy me nearly as much as it did others so I enjoy it more. Revival? Four tracks are good. Four. The rest belongs in the trash.

I agree Relapse was bad, and MMLP2 and Recovery are good, but Revival is still the worst. IMO, Relapse had 2 good songs, 2 ok songs, and a couple more mediocre but listenable songs. Revival has 4 ok songs, and the rest is just garbage that I can’t even make it through. Relapse at least is mediocre enough to listen to.

Relapse was awesome. If you were expecting SSLP/MMLP/TES Eminem, then yes, you probably didn't like it. And maybe having We Made You and Crack a Bottle lead it off made it easier for some people to expect that. But looking at the project in a vacuum, it was great. The production was excellent, Eminem was at his best technically, the bars he spits are some of the best of his career (I'd put Stay Wide Awake up there with some of the best tracks of his career; that last verse is nuts with wordplay and flow). It's a horrorcore concept album, and he didn't have to resort to shock lyrics (in terms of rapping about blood and guts) to make it good. Sure, there are lines to that effect, but that's not the draw. Other than the accents, which aren't enough of a criticism to make an entire album horrible, there isn't anything wrong with the album other than he wasn't rapping about things some people wanted him to rap about.

Holy Jesus Em f***ing SNAPPED on the remix. WE NEED THAT EM. Holy f***ing shit I'm on some kind of high after hearing that verse.

This dude is aware, he does care, and he's angry and god I hope he turns that emotion into an album or EP to redeem himself after Revival.
