Eh tune it down a bit. McDavid is a great player perhaps even generational. The latter remains to be seen though, farting his way to 5 point's margins Art Ross's while being on the ice for half the games and no real competetion for the trophy ain't gonna cut it. His first years are no better than Crosby's first years so I don't find them very unbelieveable.
Ah, the classic "he only won because everyone else sucks" argument. Fantastic.
His Art Ross wins have been by 6p and 11p, and in both years he led the league in raw points and in points per game, so there's no debate that he only won because better players were injured. The margin of victory in the Art Ross race for every Art Ross since 05-06 have been 2, 6, 6, 3, 3, 5, 12, 3, 17, 1, 17. Based on your criteria, 8 of the 11 Art Ross wins don't mean anything cause the margin of victory is too small.
His TOI in those years were also 21:08 and 21:33. The TOI numbers for every Art Ross winner since 05-06 are 21:20, 20:46, 23:06, 22:31, 19:41, 18:33, 21:01, 21:59, 21:58, 19:57, 20:25. So his TOI is perfectly in line with pretty much every Art Ross winner in the last 15 years except for Sedin x 2.
Says a lot when you have to dig that deep to try to discredit someone.
