Finally eliminate the Gauthier era officially in Montreal.

Gauthier traded up to draft Tinordi. Emelin came over under Gauthier.

You would also have to trade the second picks acquire by Gauthier.

Pateryn was acquired by Gainey. DD is a Gainey remnant as well.

Pateryn was acquired by Gainey. I wouldn't qualify trading a talentless O'byrne for Bournival a mistake. The former was terrible.

And it's debatable if the Habs make it that far last year in the POs without Eller and Bourque.

Seriously, we went to the ECF last year. East is as weak as it gets. I wouldn't trade away a bunch of draft picks for a rental, but the last thing we need is draft picks. We're 6-1 FFS.

Guys. guys, guys, this is the Oilers management. The same bunch of nimrods that have had a gazillion number one picks in a row yet have screwed things up so badly they might get another this year.

I say offer them Pateryn, Nygren and Moen for Eberle and they retain half his salary. That's 2 d-men and a gritty, hard as nails stanley cup winner. They'll wet their pants. Trust me these are the Oilers.

And don't we have an Eberle in Hamilton or with the Wheelers. Throw him into deal. That'll confuse them.

Joking aside, I would only trade for Eberle if it doesn't cost us too much and I suspect it will cost us alot.
