Have you watched the games? If MAF was on Winnipeg and Helley was on Vegas it'd be 3-1 Winnipeg.
Not really

Vegas team played lights team out D.
Shut down one of the best offense in the league.
Fleury made a few tsn highlight real saves but their defense playing in front of the puck was one of the best clinic ive seen.
Jets couldn't get anything going from offensive standpoint.
Once vegas gets that 1st goal it was lights out.
There was no feeling that Jets are going to take over unlike the pred series that you know its doable.

Back to Ehlers
Yes he underwhelm.
But so did all the veterans who were suppose to lead the team.
3 key players forwards had no goals. LITTLE PERRAULT AND LOWRY (BROKEN RIBS).
but Little no offense all year and perrault 2 goals in 4 months? Jets lost the 4 line attack when those guys werent able to come through same with Ehlers.

The captain was gassed out vs. The knights.
Laine was hobbling
Knights was too fast for stastny

In the end of the day. Vegas deserved that series to win.

Terrible series from him and Laine (terrible post season for Ehlers as a whole). Pretty sure both were playing injured, but I’m not gonna use it as an excuse, they both really need to step it up in future post seasons if the Jets want to be true contenders.

Terrible series for all the Jets not named Mark Schiefele.
The only other player to scored more 2 goals was Laine and in total just 7 players scored in 5 games. 3 Defensemen.

Babcock talked about this recently and reminded everyone that Datsyuk once went a whole bunch of playoffs games in a row without a goal/point.

The playoffs make us overvalue certain players and undervalue certain players because there aren't a lot of games in the playoffs.

Zero, just like in the playoffs he's a passenger in mind, never at the forefront.

As a purely power play specialist, Laine certainly could have helped Winnipeg win some of those 1 goal losses vs Vegas if he scored more on the power play.

We know he isn’t the greatest even strength goal scorer (0 in his last 14 playoff games), which makes it all the more necessary for him to score more on the power play.

Vegas sure did deserve to win the series, and the last game really confirmed that. I don't think the series was as lopsided as the 4-1 outcome, though.

As far as Little goes, I'm starting to think we should trade him, because we don't need to be paying 5+ million for a 3c. He doesn't have great chemistry with Ehlers and Laine, so he can't really have a top 6 role on the Jets.

No chance. Little actually plays defense and is useful across all 200 feet of the ice. Damn good player.

Ehlers and Laine are the ones that need to be traded. Garbage players who showed no heart or will to win versus an expansion team. Ehlers just didn't have the benefit of leaching off superior players on PP1 like Laine did (who did nothing all series other than that).

Jets would be far better off keeping Little.

Isn’t this a similar story with most small skilled players come playoffs

in comes the hostile responses of (Look at Patrick Kane, Martin St.Louis blah blah blah)

he did struggle and anyone who thinks he didn't, is out of their mind, that said he is not the reason why the Jets are out, and far from it.

English is my third language so I might be wrong here but it seems like you're a bit dyslexic. But since you like to focus on goals I adjust my question. Care to share your thoughts about players who score less than 25 goal per season?

You should take a few more lessons last I checked “scored” means putting the puck in the net. Not sure what your yabbering on about here, I don’t speak Pegger.

You're right Ehlers and Little didn't have great series, but they were still better than Matthews and Nylander against Boston.

As far Little goes, your right he's a solid 200 ft 2C, but like I said he doesn't fit in our top 6 very well, and he's signed until he's 36 at 5.3 million, which is too much for a 3c. I'd rather trade him for picks and re-sign Stastny to a 2-3 year deal.

Guy Lafleur didn't start out as a great performer especially in the playoffs and look how he turned out. If that doesn't stop people from passing judgement over 1 series, take step back and learn to love the game. All this nonsense about Mathews, Laine and now Ehelers just ridiculous.

Ehlers did not look injured or sick at all. He was flying down the wing like a one trick pony.

Laine will be fine.

Stat watching much are we?
Zero goals is dissapointing, but he hasnt been bad.

He has been playing injured/Sick.

btw, imo he should have way more apples, the amount of passes he made to either, Stas, Laine, Wheeler or others that should have led to a goal.

Yes omg YES!

Let's do just that, let's trade Ehlers and Laine and lay all responsibility over on two very young players who stood for almost 80 goals in the regular season, for the PO loss to Vegas.

f***ing embarrassing Hf logic

no excuse can cover up the fact he went 3 playoff rounds and didnt put a single puck in the net. need a lot more than a few apples

No one is excusing anything, just like im sure you guys didn't blame Matthews and Willy.

It is dissapointing, but let'd not exaggerrate here - I know you love when Ehlers is pulled down tho.

Or any of the Jets youngsters for that matter.
