Nobody besides McDavid and Drai can finish right now, and Drai is out atm. So tired of seeing what should be tap-ins and clear shots, and the no look passes are getting frustrating.

Not enough skill on the team. Its top heavy and then falls off a cliff. Getting rid of Eberle and Hall and replacing them with Strome and Lucic didn't help.

they were fine without hall and being a devils fan i get it. but shouldnt have traded jordan. knee jerk move biting them in the you know what.

About everything that could go wrong has gone this season. And besides Nurse, every single player on the roster looks like shit.

We'll see if this is a blip or a symptom of a larger problem as the season progresses but there is definitely cause for concern at the moment.

Nurse is pretty much the only positive.

there's no cause for concern when it's 5 games in and your luck looks to be really bad

Only overachiever last year was probably Talbot.. which does make a big difference.

Despite a good playoff run this team still has a lot to learn. And they have to find a way to create more balance when Draisaitl comes back. They can't be a team that's only good when the top guys are hot and Talbot is making the saves.

That said im sure that will happen eventually and they go on a hot streak and people forget about the Oilers problems again.

But they are in big trouble if Drai is out long-term.

The worst thing that could happen in the NHL would be Edmonton missing the playoffs.... with their luck they would win the lottery and get Dahlin.

Still feel like they should have doubled down on speed and skill after getting Mcdavid and with the way the league has been headed. They have a strange mix of players imo, no identity. Outside Mcdavid they are a fairly slow and unskilled team. Trading Hall and Eberle were mistakes i think.

One line team without their 2nd most important player on that line... what did you expect..?

The other poster hit the nail on the head the other day - the oilers are essentially a 1 line team, actually more like just a 2/3 of a 1 line team. When they don't score they lose. Talbot is bad and the oilers defense is atrocious. After all those years of first overall picks the oilers couldn't rebuild their D? Pathetic.

The leafs are going to get better faster than the oilers.
