I always liked Marincin and had high hopes, but I understand why this move was made.
I'm guessing this was Chiarelli's "plan B" after failing to get McQuiad.
I have never liked Gryba but he's the type of player we need, Marincin was very soft and didn't compete hard enough. I also think there might have been some other stuff going on behind the scenes with him coming into to camp out of shape and being sent down to the AHL while we used Brad Hunt & co... he was also scratched in the AHL playoffs.
Brad Ross is a waste of a contract spot.
Marincin was over-valued on this forum.
Marincin was an NHL player. Oilers had the worst defence in the NHL prior to this draft.
The Oilers inexplicably just got rid of an NHL quality dman and got nothing in return.
Defence is now worse because of it. They are going in the wrong direction.

The same Marincin that couldnt even play in the AHL playoffs is a NHL player?
Head scratcher
Gryba isn't NHL quality?

Head scratcher
The same Marinicin that faltered under Eakins.
Not really sure why that would be a head scratcher.
How's Hartikanen doing these days...
Its a head scratcher cuz he still was scratched in AHL playoffs for players like Musil who probably wont be a NHL player.
Why are you using an example of terrible player management to prove your point? (Whatever your point is...)
He's not even in the league anymore, or even on this continent.
Is that a no?
Big surprise there.
