Wouldn't surprise me to see him get more time as the #3. With McDavid and Drai down the middle having a more defensive 3rd line makes some sense, especially as he can still put up ~30 points in that role. Serves as a nice bridge for Khaira potentially going into that role.

Also that would let Strome go to wing which helps patch that weakness.

You think Mcdavid is worth 10.5 and Drai 5.5? Oh cmon LOL, I know Drai got overpaid but I think most people were expecting 7.5~, defenitely not 5.5. He did overpay on Drake and Benning cause Benning didn’t play like 5-6 dman, he was god awful. And Drake was a 4th liner. Chia overpaid on those two.

Benning as a bottom pair D is fine. He scored 6 goals and 21pts. What more could you ask? With injuries... moving him up. Ugh.

With healthy D, you can’t complain about a Nurse-Benning bottom pair. That’s depth. With injuries... it’s ugly.

If we’re talking 16-17 Benning, hell yeah. But last year was brutal and I’m hoping he doesn’t repeat. I hope there is competition for him, lowkey feel like he was gifted his spot on the roster cause of injuries / lack of depth.

Strome was better at centre than he was at wing

When he was with MIN Bodziak was a great 3rd liner who actually said he enjoyed that role more than being thrust into a top six slot due to injuries. He'll be solid and certainly won't hurt you on the defensive side of the ice. Good signing. I wouldn't have minded at all had the Wild brought him back somehow.

He was probably our best penalty killer. Really hate to see him go. You guys will like him.
