Bruins had almost a 2 minute 5 on 3 in the second, and came up empty.

Yea the reffing was ghastly in the third, but control your controllables.

You can't cant control when the refs call something and they don't.

But you can control the outcome of the powerplays they do get, and they came up empty.

If the effort was there, and this was a goalie interference in toronto late in the third to decide the game type call, the blame would be all on the refs.

But not with the effort they gave tonight.

As strange as it is, I feel better about them losing a game they deserved to lose than losing a game they should have won. This was certainly the former.

the 3rd period was like that game in 'remember the titans' where the refs called a penalty on every
play, before they got called out by coach yost. what a joke.

I tried to post this on the game thread. Still think theirs truth to it given how all the game 2s had some controversy.

the playoffs as a whole have been marred by NBA officiating. Bruins deserved NADA nothing zilch tonight but every game 2 this round has been tainted.
I think it’s a league conspiracy to get more games.

Every game makes them more money.

Marchand was owed a penalty shot.
Four minutes burned on the PK.
Linesmen atrocious as is the new norm.

Someone boarded late.

Incredible.

Infuriating.

I said earlier roast the officials privately but it just got worse and worse that third period.

The refs even spoonfed them two PPs until they took the lead.

That all said... the Bruins did not show up and they did have a 5v3 PP.

NBC absolutely crucifying the officiating.

Agreed. They played like ass tonight. Couldn't even score on a long 5 on 3. Several vets failed to step up at all.

Much better officiating in Round 1 across the league.

Yes, bizarre. This series is turning out to be how I expected it against Toronto. TB has been getting some huge Habs treatment.

We didn't deserve to take 2 games, TB probably outplayed us during the first 2 games. But this officiating is a shameful. There is no other way around it.

I cann tell you even the german comentator called out the ref crew and the guy said "NHL refs usually do a great job and are rarely to be criticized" lol.

Rask should be nowhere near anyone's list of reasons we lost this game.

Even taking into account that 2nd goal, he was MORE than good enough to win tonight.

Imagine watching your team only manage to put 20 shots on a vezina finalist goalie and still thinking "Yeah, our goalie is why we lost here"

Wait...you can’t control what the refs do, but you can control whether the goalie makes a great save or if an opposing defenseman blocks a shot or makes a good pass?

When JR and Milbury are ripping those calls along with what Pierre said during the game (and correctly pointing out in the first period on the Krug slash) you know this was bad.

Top off Marchand getting slashed with no call on a clear breakaway and Pastrnak getting boarded, it was a bad night for the guys in stripes

Plus that jackwagon tossing Bergeron on every face off

@LouJersey was spot on about his house money comment. Bruins have struggled in these games all season.

Bad start, questionable officiating, sloppy play, interesting coaching decisions (Backes out with the goalie pulled? Really? There's 4 guys I'd rather see before him). They'll regroup and win the next one at home. They had a lot of things go wrong tonight and still almost pulled it out.
