On some level I get the few Rangers fans that want to sell. The core features Fox and Shesterkin but their premier players up front aren't getting any younger. If they just roll the same group out over and over for the next few years is it going to get any better for them if they can't beat NJ now? Maybe the Rangers rebound in the series and they settle down but as we all watched the Devils have to rebuild and sell where they could to miss the PIT WAS NYI BOS and TB timelines it makes some sort of sense if you don't think the core is truly a contending one.
The only way the Rags "rebound" is if Ruff puts VV back out there instead of Schmid and even Ruff isn't THAT stupid.

Akira is the reason the Rags are left pointing fingers at each other.

(well that and a vastly-improved PK)

0 pts and 4 minors against an ELITE PP. He’s been bad.
I'd like to see him register a few points and his penalties have mostly been trash, so yeah, I'm not gonna argue that too much.

Last night he was exceptionally bad, particularly in the 1st and 2nd periods.

I would eat tacos but then would pay for it in the restroom afterward.

Not sure I want it to be my permanent residence.
As with many foods it depends upon who is preparing them and what is used. There used to be a place that prepared a filet steak near me that you wouldn’t have wanted to eat more than once. I like shrimp tacos with some mango salsa and a bit of habanero sauce. Light and healthy and you walk aaay from the table feeling good. I’m sure you can find a place that goes that route rather than a heavy greasy style.

I noticed that last night. Love that Hughes had the kind of game that Lindy trusted him to be out there in that situation and he delivered.
Hughes handled the situation flawlessly but he was out there because of an icing, not because of anything Lindy thought or wanted.

I find my favorite foods don't photograph well.

Cassoulet looks like a giant pile of crap in a photo but on a cold, damp or rainy day that stuff goes right to your soul.
Given the regional I flunce here of French food it surprises me that cassoulet is not featured in local cuisine. It’s probably an ancestor of red beans and rice as it is prepared here but it’s not really the same thing.

Is there any type of duck confit in Louisiana cooking? I know waterfowl hunting is popular in the state.

I do find it funny how all year long the rag fans said they will hit us to smithereens. Fast forward to yesterday and they are the ones complaining about their soft stars while the Jacks, Bratts, Nicos and Timos of the world are throwing hits and more importantly pushing play and making a difference.
The best take I liked from Ranger fans was that they lost to us during the regular season because those games didmt really matter amd they were ”saving “ themselves for the playoffs….And the losses didn’t matter because they were fine with finishing where they did , preferred their place in the standings and it didn’t matter much to the players and coaches.. lol.
If you read their pre- series comments in their team thread , a lot of them actual,y said and believed that was the case .
They saved themselves alright

There is but it isn’t as widespread as you’d expect. Duck hunting is a huge pastime here . Guys go early before work when the season opens. But it’s not in many restaurants. You see some dishes cooked with duck fat but actual duck confit or even a roasted breast with some sides and a sauce is only regularly available at a handful of reputable places. My wife loves duck and we have two places we go for it.

I really like duck. A medium rare duck breast is very close to a deer loin (backstrap).

Elmer Fudd?!
Surprised he would say something like that? I mean I'm sure their paths will cross being at WFAN at some point? Seems pretty unprofessional at the very least.

The Schmid rebound thing is so overblown and seems like a copping mechanism somehow? Schmid's rebound control is excellent, probably the best of all our goalies.
