OK, so then why did he cut his icetime in the 3rd?
I think that was just one shift Provorov played with Braun.

I posted icetimes one post above yours.I think that was just one shift Provorov played with Braun.
He played 2 min more than Braun, I don't think we went with 4 D in 3rd did we ??
OTOH almost every team will rely on their top 4 when protecting a 3rd period lead in a playoff game. It’s pretty much the norm. Heck in Keenan’s era no D man other than Howe, McCrimmon, Marsh and Crossman would have taken a single 3rd period shift in a one goal game.I posted icetimes one post above yours.
It appears as if they seriously limited the Ghost-Braun pair in the 3rd.
Ghost had the least shifts of any D.
Giroux didn't make a big splash but he had numerous little plays springing rushes and chances. He had a massively long redirect to Farabee from the wall in our own zone that hit him in stride perfectly. With his back to him. Are you serious G? Were we using the boards as a mirror like Gretzky? How you do this
Not a good idea when a defensemen is shitting the bed as hard as Niskanen was.OTOH almost every team will rely on their top 4 when protecting a 3rd period lead in a playoff game. I noticed you mentioned this during the game and it deserves even more praise. That re-direct would have hit a player in stride 3/4 of the way across the width of the ice, was perfectly timed, and didn't take anything off the speed of the previous pass. I've never seen anything like it.
I agree but AV isn’t going to sour on Niskanen after one bad game. He’s just not wired that way.Not a good idea when a defensemen is shitting the bed as hard as Niskanen was.
Dinosaur thinking....I agree but AV isn’t going to sour on Niskanen after one bad game. He’s just not wired that way.
Sure. He doesn't need to sour on him, but he can adjust usage in individual games if someone is clearly struggling.I agree but AV isn’t going to sour on Niskanen after one bad game. He’s just not wired that way.

Then again he could be coaching the Habs and have to run 3 guys into the ground
Sanheim/MyersMe right now reading posts about splitting up Sanheim and Myers in the future.....
Nothing should be untouchable. Except Mike Milbury’s underwear. No human should ever have to touch that.Provorov-Niskanen shouldn't be untouchable.
Columbus is going to need to take a shot on goal if they want to get this game to OT
