I thought Boyle did not look good in the 1st period, but in what world is the play Girardi tonight not at the top of the list of things that went wrong tonight?

Did anybody else notice Micheletti subtly criticizing Staal and Girardi a lot tonight?

Well if you're asked about that goal, you don't start taking about something else.

Obviously Yandle was better than 18+5 don't get me wrong. But that goal was the turning point in the game and that's what he was addressing.

It really sucks they couldn't have tied the game up on that PP. A SH goal against is literally the worst outcome in that situation, we all know that.

Another thing, how about they work on getting their shots through? I swear there were probably almost as many shots that got blocked as those on net.

But overall the defense was a really big problem. We actually outshot them and carried the play for the majority of the game. However Pitt capitalized on our mistakes. When they made mistakes our guys missed the net or had their shots blocked.

Agree with much of this

Girardi shooting into the Great Wall of China and then swan diving at center ice to give Crosby so much room on his breakaway that you could've parked an aircraft carrier in it is hilarious in it's own special way.

AV singled out Dan Boyle as needing to be better in his presser

I.......what?

Jesus Christ. He has seriously lost it.

He legitimately thinks Dan and Marc are doing a good job.

Tanner on the ice down 2 with 4 minutes left.

Wtf. AV was a revelation in 2014. Now (as he's curried more favor with the organization and had more control) he's probably an even bigger detriment to the team than anyone else, including 18&5.

Another coach would deploy them as the liabilities they are and try and hide them. Not ride them like AV does.

I hate early playoffs. They call stupid **** like that (to set the tone or whatever) the first few games then put their whistles away for the next 3 rounds. Sucks we happened to be on the receiving end.

Letang gets in the path of Kreider. It's interference. Instead, we get to hear about what a bad penalty Kreider took. BTW, add Sam and Joe to the list of things that sucked about tonight. Sam has being doing hockey for how friggin' long and yet he's still confused by Kreider being out with Brassard and Zucc after coming out of the penalty box. And we get yet another diatribe about the "underrated skill" of Tanner Glass. I'm find it easier and easier to no longer listen to play-by-play from anyone.

He could have drop passed it and the receiver would still have a breakaway.

Tells you everything you need to know:

Walking to the subway and Al Trautwig is on the side of the street crushing a cigarette, looking miserable.

He's even a Rangers fan? Could have fooled me. Probably mad he won't get much OT this year with the Rangers going far into the playoffs.

Yes but on another hand it could have been far far worse.

Well no, it honestly couldn't have been. The stick can't go any farther. He either has a serious abrasion that will take a month+ to heal or he doesn't. It's pretty much as bad as it gets.

And if that is his dominant eye (which for righties it usually is) than all the worse. So no it couldn't have been much worse unless the puck also hit him in the neck at the same time and maimed him.

Just such a dumb play. If there's nothing there, why shoot it there. Hell, if you're gonna shoot it, at least rip it. He just tossed it lightly right to Hornqvist allowing him to get it down and quickly make a nice pass.

And Girardi is usually pretty good at just dumping it down low when there's nothing from the point. So stupid.

He could have had a hyphema or ruptured globe.

Disagree with this.

I think he is by far the worst when it comes to shot choices. ALWAYS shoots it into someone, always.

yeah but does YandLE SHUTDOWN THE TOP PLAYe......oh.

Yeah but does YandLE KNOW HOW TO DO THE ONE JOB A DEFENSEMAN HAS ON A 2-on-....OH....Oh right. Corsi doesn't measure that.

You call Girardi and Staal pylons all the time. Yet when Yandle plays a 2-on-1 worse than a traffic cone. Literally. Worse than a traffic cone. And it gets ignored, cuz corsi. K.

Incredible how much they praise tanner. It's seems like all the guys with horrible contracts on this team get defended and we are told how amazing they are.
Anyone notice the 4th line has once again gone into the abyss. Not sure it would have mattered but lindberg not playing or even moving fast to the 4th line and lindberg to third is a joke

yeah giving our best defenseman this game some leeway because he played a 2 on 1 poorly while Girardi and Staal literally tried to give the game away is just totally incomprehensible cUZ CORSI LOL xD NERSD

The first goal was the ultimate example of everything terrible with Girardi. Puck dumped in right near the red line, and of course he's worried about it being an icing. And then proceeds to get beat to the puck. And loses a 50/50 battle. All in the final minute of a period.

The first and last points are on AV - you have to be held accountable for not playing whistle to whistle, and he shouldn't be out there in that situation in the first place. The first three points are why Girardi will cost us games.

Tells you everything you need to know:

Walking to the subway and Al Trautwig is on the side of the street crushing a cigarette, looking miserable.

This is awesome.

I would usually NEVER invade another team's board, at all. Especially after a game.

But thought that you all might appreciate the sharing of this so am doing so and hope that it is taken in the right spirit as intended.

From our seats you can see the opposing teams practice before the games. They are in a more public part of their locker room and usually do soccer and similar here to warm up.

I thought that people would enjoy the behind the scenes pictures.

Yes. And this is the part where the few Nash lovers come in and defend his great defense. Because $8M players are only looked upon for their defense and easy cross crease 5 on 3 assists. Guess that defense wasn't so good with 4+ goals being given up, eh?

Great defense alright. Guys were getting on AV for blaming Yandle on the short handed goal. If you listened closely, in the beginning he said guys didn't get back on D. He didn't mention names, but that guy was Nash. He watched the guy go by him and made no attempt to go after him. instead he made a lazy attempt to block the pass.
